Biography

Dr. Mihai Lupu (male) is a data scientist with experience in distributed and
domain specific text retrieval. Until December 2019 he was Studio Director at
the Research Studios Austria FG. Before that, he was a researcher at the TU Wien
and at the Information Retrieval Facility in Vienna. He has received his PhD
degree from the Singapore- MIT Alliance at the National University of Singapore,
where he has worked mostly on Information Retrieval on Peer-to-Peer Networks,
but also briefly on Semantic Web techniques, as well as programming languages.
Before his PhD, he had obtained an MSc degree in Parallel and Distributed
Computing and a BSc degree in computer science from the “Al. I. Cuza” University
in Iasi, Romania. Now he is working in the industry, helping clients manage
their ever increasing amounts of data in a secure, reliable, and trustworthy
way.
