The review finds higher prices and the growing complexity of energy offers means more customers are opting for solar energy installations. According to the national retail energy competition review, only one in four Americans say energy retailers have their long-term interests at heart. This has dropped by 10 per cent from 2017. I'm planning out my home system, and I will likely mount my panels on the ground. That leaves me wondering whether I should pour a concrete pad, pour reinforced piers, use stake mounts, or take some other approach. What have folks used before? Expand Post Question with a best answer. Best Answer This is something that's often overlooked, so I'm glad you're thinking ahead! A few thoughts from my experiences: * CODE COMPLIANCE: ALWAYS consult your local building codes. Different counties have different requirements. * CONCRETE PADS: These are generally unnecessary for a ground solar installation, as they are good at supporting a ton of weight...like in a driveway application. * CONCRETE PIERS: The most permanent solution, and the most labor-intensive. But they can get you some elevation, and will generally stand up to wind very well and provide for great water drainage. Be sure to build piers deep enough to avoid frost heave in areas prone to freezing. * STAKE MOUNTS: Expensive accessories to buy for each mounting rack, but much easier to install and likely less costly overall. * GROUND REST: The default for most homeowners. The mounting brackets in the stores are all designed to ground rest, but you may want to consider water runoff in your installation area. Edited by SDO_A1 30 de April de 2019 at 15:51 Cannot Get LTE Connectivity Speeds My wind turbine system is a little remote, so I opted for the LTE-based remote monitoring option instead of relying on wifi. But lately my account is showing only 3G level connectivity most of the time, which has me concerned about the quality of data I'm getting from the installation. I'm wondering: 1. Has anyone else encountered this? 2. Any ideas for remedying the issue? I'd hate to resort to a wired connection, since that would be pricy. There are a whole host of other things that can affect speed. But yeah, I wish Cirrus would update the firmware too! I'm trying to understand what happens when you combine products from different product families. Are they all compatible with each other, or do certain products only work with certain others? Expand Post Question with a best answer. Best Answer Yes! I can confirm that products in each product family are built to work together, but not with others. There are adapters available that make this possible, though.
