Violence against Native women and communities remains an urgent crisis, rooted
in the legacy of settler colonialism. As Native women, children, and communities
continue to face disproportionate rates of violence, Native authors are using
literature to illuminate these critical human rights issues.
Learn how storytelling centers the voices of Native women and communities
impacted by violence. From โ€œMurder on the Red Riverโ€ to โ€œShutter,โ€ these vital
works challenge erasure and demand to be heard.

Meet the authors @marcierendon and @reelindian as they discuss:

โœจHow their work illuminates ongoing challenges in #IndianCountry
โœจThe power of storytelling in driving change
โœจTheir journey of writing authentic Native experiences

While many leaders and institutions have pushed โ€œpost-pandemicโ€ rhetoric,
virologists, epidemiologists, and other science/health experts continue to help
us understand the reality that COVID-19 never went away. We collectively need a
better understanding of this pathogen to protect our quality of life, those we
love, the health of our community, and cultural preservation. While denial is
the norm, being rooted in reality helps us be better informed and prepared to
navigate the real-life dangers of airborne viruses and the impacts of multiple
infections. This webinar will provide information about COVID-19 and how to
mitigate its spread just in time for respiratory season.

On #RedShawlDay, we face an urgent truth: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
and Relatives is more than an epidemicโ€”it's the devastating result of centuries
of colonial violence and erosion of Tribal sovereignty. Indigenous women face
murder rates 10 times higher than the national average, a direct consequence of
federal policies creating a maze of injustice in #IndianCountry.

Every red shawl carries our collective powerโ€”Tribal communities rising,
demanding accountability, and reclaiming our sovereign right to protect our
people. Today, we honor the lives lost and stand with grassroots advocates,
families, and Tribal leaders who refuse to let these crimes go unanswered. โค๏ธ
