CUSTOM MADE FOOTWEAR



At Special Footwear and Orthotics, we make custom made orthotics and bespoke
footwear for problem feet. We pride ourselves on making orthopedic footwear look
attractive, stylish, and elegant whilst also being supportive.

For women particularly, a lot of specialist footwear made to accommodate foot
conditions can be heavy, bulky, and ugly. At Special Footwear and Orthotics, we
can make any type of made to measure women’s footwear for customers who cannot
buy readymade shoes, whether this be custom sandals, high heels, court shoes or
boots, no matter the shape of your foot, we have never turned a customer away!

CUSTOM MADE ORTHOTICS



We also make bespoke Men’s footwear for any type of foot problem. We have made
plenty of slip-on shoes, where laces are nuisance or mobility and dexterity is
an issue for the customer. We also make stylish and high-quality brogues, with a
range of leathers and specialist materials to choose from. If you can imagine
your dream shoe, we can make it.

In many cases, specialist footwear and orthotics come hand in hand. We often
create footwear for problem feet with built in orthotics to support the foot.
However, we can make custom made orthotics to fit into your existing footwear or
handmade shoes to accommodate your orthotics.

Master Shoe Maker


TONY ANDREWS

Special Footwear and Orthotics started out in Owner and Founder Tony Andrews’
bedroom, when he was just in his twenties. Tony first started making shoes when
he was just 11 years old. His father was a shoemaker so he used to help wherever
he could. This is when he discovered his natural skill and love for the art of
shoemaking.

After a few years of experience making orthopaedic footwear for the NHS, Tony
started making shoes for private customers in his spare time with limited
equipment in his bedroom. Within no time, the demand outgrew his humble bedroom
workshop and in 1968, the company Special Footwear and Orthotics was born. The
first shop opened on Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park, London.
