Baggage
Can I carry alcohol in checked in baggage?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You may carry alcoholic beverages not exceeding 5 Liters per person as part of
their checked-in baggage, provided the following conditions are met:

1. The alcoholic beverage is in retail packaging and packed appropriately (to
prevent damage / leakage).

2. Alcohol content in the beverage should not be exceeding more than 70% by
volume.

If you wish to carry large quantities of beverages, you are advised to contact
our cargo services at airport

Can I travel with perishable (fresh / frozen), oversized, or fragile goods?

There are several do's and don'ts about the above categories of items.

Perishable / Fresh & Frozen Food Items:

Safe as check-in baggage? No. These items will not be accepted as check-in
baggage.

Safe as cabin baggage? Might be accepted as hand carry baggage – this is subject
to the destination's quarantine regulations. Any perishable items must be
properly packed and must meet the cabin baggage policy. If dry ice is used in
packaging these items, a maximum of 2.5 kg of dry ice per guest is permissible
in the cabin. The acceptance of any items that fit the above description is at
the sole discretion of AirAsia India. We reserve the right to refuse carriage.

Oversized Items
Musical Instruments
Safe as check-in baggage? Can be checked in as your baggage allowance but it is
not advisable due to the risk of potential damage.
Safe as cabin baggage? Can be carried onboard at no extra cost if the instrument
satisfies the cabin baggage policy. If it doesn't satisfy the conditions of our
cabin baggage policy or if it exceeds our size restrictions, you will need to
purchase an extra seat. Our size restrictions specify a weight not more than 75
kg

Wedding Dress:
Safe as check-in baggage? Must be checked in if it exceeds 7 kg.
Safe as cabin baggage? If carried onboard, the wedding dress must be properly
packed to satisfy our cabin baggage policy. Please note that any storage
facilities to hang or store items are not available onboard.

Fragile / Valuable Items
Electronic Devices / Ceramic / Glassware:
Safe as check-in baggage? We strongly advise against checking in these items.
Safe as cabin baggage? These items can be included in cabin baggage as long as
it satisfies our cabin baggage policy. However, we advise you to be mindful of
potential damage and ensure that the items are securely packed.

Televisions:
Safe as check-in baggage? Television sets should not exceed 32 kg in weight.
These must be properly packed and protected with internal padding for protection
against impacts. You will be required to sign a release of indemnity that
releases AirAsia India from any liabilities. We advise you to purchase our
travel insurance package.
Safe as cabin baggage? No. These items cannot be carried as cabin baggage as per
AirAsia India's policy.

Valuable Items (Jewellery, Precious Metals, Silverware, Identification
Documents)
Safe as check-in baggage? We strongly advise against checking in any items that
fit this description.

Safe as cabin baggage? These items can be carried as cabin baggage as long as it
satisfies our cabin baggage policy. However, you are required to be mindful of
security risks. We advise you to securely package items of this nature.

Motorised Personel Vehicle/Transporter:

What items fall under this category? Machines operating as self-balancing
battery-powered vehicles with levitating platforms (like skateboards without
wheels) that are used for personal transportation. For e.g.: hoverboards, air
wheels, solo wheels, segways, and balance wheels.

Safe as check-in or cabin baggage? No. None of the items that fit the above
description are permitted on our flights.

How can I upgrade my baggage allowance?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As an AirAsia India guest flying domestic, you are entitled to one piece of free
checked-in baggage up to 15 kg per person. For every additional piece, there
will be a handling fee applicable at the airport. If you exceed the 15 kg free
baggage allowance for pre-booked weight, excess baggage charges will also apply
at the airport. You have an option of upgrading to an extra 3Kgs, 5Kgs, 10Kgs,
15Kgs & 25 Kgs of baggage at a discounted fare during initial and post booking
on "Manage Booking" or on Tia up to two (2) hours prior to scheduled departure
time and with selected travel agents

If the cabin baggage exceeds seven (07) kgs, then you can avail Carry-On-Extra
service with following applicable rates:

 * * Pre-purchase on AirAsia India website (Carry-On-Xtra): 3 Kg @₹ 900, 5 Kg
     @₹1500.
   * Airport: Check-in Counter: As per current excess baggage charges. Boarding
     Gates: Flat ₹4000 for maximum up to 12 kg.

I have lost my handbag, what do I do?

You would be solely responsible for carriage of the hand bag / personal
belongings. AirAsia India is not liable for any loss / damage caused to
customer's hand baggage / personal belongings.

I have paid for excess baggage, do I still have to pay for pay piece of bag?

Yes!

We allow 1 piece of checked-in baggage which should not exceed 15 Kgs.
Additional charges of INR 550 per kg will apply for excess baggage at Airport.
Any additional piece of check-in luggage will attract a nominal baggage-handling
fee of INR 900 if prebooked and INR 1000 at airport per baggage along with
additional charges of INR 550 per kg will apply for excess baggage.


Each bag should not exceed the dimension of Height 81 cm x Width 119 cm x Depth
119 cm

Is the Carry On Xtra available for all destinations?

Yes, it is available on all sectors of AirAsia India domestic flights. However,
it is subject to availibilty.

My bag has arrived at the destination, however, it has been damaged. What do I
do?

In case your bag has arrived at the destination but is not in good condition or
has been damaged, please contact our staff members at the desk located in the
arrival hall of the destination airport.

Special Equipment Handling

For those of you who will be travelling with us on a sporting or musical trip
and will be carrying sports/musical equipment(s), there are some important notes
that you need to know when packing your sports/musical equipment(s) prior
flying.



Equipments that can be carried are,

1. Large Fishing rods

2. Golf Clubs

3. Bicycles

4. Fencing equipment

5. Surfboarding/windsurfing equipment

6. Snow/water skiing equipment

7. Hang gliders

8. Parachutes

9. LCD/LED Televisions 39 inches and above

11. Large Musical Instruments (Guitar, Sitar, Casio, Tabla, Harmonium etc and
more)

12. Big Fragile items like Artworks, Paintings, glass items, antiques etc.

Handling Fees:

Certain sports equipment such as skiing equipment, golf bags, bicycles, surf
boards, snowboards, water skis, scuba diving equipment, cricket set etc.
requires us a separate handling procedure due to their fragile and sensitive
physical nature.

AirAsia India guests can now pay for Handling fees (For Sports & Musical
equipment) up to three pieces online. Below mentioned are the per piece charges

Terms and Conditions
• AirAsia India guests can now pay for Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee
(for skiing equipment, golf bags, bicycles, surf boards, snowboards, water skis
and scuba diving equipment, LCD beyond 39 inches & large musical instruments)
online up to three pieces. The charges will be applicable per passenger per
journey.

• Extra piece Baggage handling fee will not be applicable on Sports & Musical
equipment.
• Depending on the dimensions of the items of sports equipment, musical
instruments such items may be loaded onto the flight in a tilted position at
AirAsia India’s discretion.

• The Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee is subject to availability.

• The Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee is non-refundable, non-cancellable
in isolation and non-transferable. However, the fees will be refunded only in
case of cancellation of the flight booking or in the event of flight
cancellation by AirAsia India.

• The Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee can be purchased on all the routes
operated by Air Asia India.

• The Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee can be pre booked through AirAsia
India’s website (www.airasia.co.in) either at the time of booking, or at any
time thereafter, until two (2) hours before the scheduled departure of the
flight or can be purchased at the airport check in counters as well.

• The weight of such Sports & Musical equipment Handling Fee will count towards
the calculation of a passenger’s permissible baggage allowance and standard
excess baggage charges, if applicable, will be levied over and above the Fees.

• Air Asia India reserves the right to withdraw/revise the Sports & Musical
equipment Handling Fee service and the terms and conditions thereof without
prior notice.

What happens if I am unable to report loss / damage to my bag?

Any receipt of baggage without complaint on the termination of the journey shall
be prima facie evidence that the baggage has been delivered correctly and in
good condition. A customer who leaves the baggage delivery area without
reporting a bag as missing or damaged to an AirAsia India representative will be
deemed to have received his/her bag correctly and in good condition

What is AirAsia India's cabin baggage policy?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are permitted to bring two pieces of baggage onboard as part of your cabin
baggage allowance with the total weight of both items not exceeding 7 kg. One
piece of cabin baggage must not exceed 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm including the
handles, wheels, and side pockets so that it fits in the overhead compartment in
the aircraft cabin. You may also carry one laptop bag/handbag / backpack / any
other small bag with dimensions not exceeding 40 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm so that it
fits under the seat in front of you. Note: Multiple items that are strapped,
wrapped or tied together will not be counted as one piece of cabin baggage.
Guests who wish to travel with more than the permitted cabin baggage limit are
recommended to pre-book checked baggage allowance prior to the flight. Baggage
purchase/upgrade can be done on our website, mobile app or via Tia-chatbot up to
four hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Smart baggage is allowed as
cabin baggage provided it meets the following requirements: If the batteries are
non-removable, must not exceed 0.3 g for lithium metal and 2.7 Wh for
lithium-ion. If smart baggage with a lithium battery exceeds the above limit and
its battery cannot be removed, then it isn't permitted as cabin or check-in
baggage. If the batteries are removable, they must be taken out before the
flight and carried in the cabin baggage. Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / GPS must be
switched off. A maximum of two spare batteries is allowed in the cabin baggage.
If you use a wheelchair or a mobility device to get around, please refer to our
FAQs on wheelchairs and mobility devices onboard. Also, we request you to be
aware of prohibited carry-on baggage items and the limitations on liquids,
aerosols, and gels. Cabin baggage allowance for infants/children: We provide a
7kg cabin baggage allowance for infants below the age of two years. Children
above the age of two years will be given the same cabin baggage allowance as
regular guests. Baby strollers or foldable baby strollers are allowed as cabin
baggage as long as it is within the specifications listed in our cabin baggage
allowance. Items purchased at the airport: All items purchased at the airport
will be a part of your cabin baggage allowance. Only duty-free items packed in a
Security Tamper-evident Bag (STEB) which is sealed and accompanied with
proof-of-purchase, is exempted from your cabin baggage allowance. Note:
Regulations regarding the carriage of duty-free items may vary depending on each
airport operator's policies. If unsure, please check with your local duty-free
store personnel. Important Reminder: All guests are advised to observe high
standards of personal hygiene. Face masks must be worn at all times and hands
must be washed or sanitised frequently. Kindly observe the seat signage and
floor markers at queuing areas, including check-in counters and kiosks.
