AND Sponsors from all over Texas have partnered up with Make-A-Wish® to host a clay shoot to raise money for kids right here in East Texas. Let’s get together, have some fun, and make a difference! Current needs in East Texas: Our donations from 2023 helped fund 45 wishes that we expect to be granted this year from September 2023 to August 2024. Furthermore, we have 89 additional wishes qualified, but need our support. Funding controls the pace at which we can grant these wishes, and we rely on the support of private donations to make these wishes possible. Wishes vary in size and shape, with the most popular wish being to travel somewhere. Each wish is as unique as the child that makes it. Wishes in the past have included: shopping sprees, meeting a favorite celebrity or being with someone they admire, like a teacher or a police officer. Once the event has concluded, we will post the stories of the wishes our event has been able to grant. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish® has been creating life-changing wish experiences for children with critical illnesses around the world. Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope. Wishes even reunite families and enrich entire communities. Every eligible child needs a wish to count on! Check out the very first wish that started it all back in 1980.
