Entertainment 2. Vero is apparently THE new social media app to be on VERO IS APPARENTLY THE NEW SOCIAL MEDIA APP TO BE ON But how on earth does it work? By Natasha RiglerPublished: 26 February 2018 When you're not busy scrolling through Instagram stories, updating your Snapchat, tweeting a random musing about the latest episode of Survival Of The Fittest and checking into Nando's on Facebook, you could be using Vero - social media's newbie. This weekend, scores of Brits were busy downloading the new app to do exactly that, but many more were left wondering what on earth it actually is. Vero Well fear not, as here's all you need to know - if you've actually got time to squeeze it into your life, that is. The main difference between Vero and other sites is that your entire feed has been "cleaned up" and is in chronological order, meaning what you're seeing is up-to-the-minute. None of those pesky algorithms and tech bugs deciding your content for you here. Vero Also, for the "foreseeable future" users are being offered Vero "free for life", but it will be an app that comes with subscription charges. While this may seem a little sucky at first, it also means it doesn't actually have any adverts. Refreshing or what? Similarly to Facebook, you can rank your relationship with your fellow online mates, such as Close Friend, Friend, Acquaintance on Vero. The makers have called it an 'audience selector', and it apparently puts you in charge of who sees what. Vero Its website states: "When you can control who sees what, you can behave in a way that is more natural. We created a social network that lets you be yourself. Hence the name Vero. Meaning truth." We like what we're hearing. Finding friends on Vero isn't easy, however. Like Snapchat, it's gonna mean posting your username/ profile on another social media site so your pals know exactly how to search for you. Not ideal, but at least it won't mean you end up becoming 'friends' with that random girl Lisa from your Year 5 maths group again. View full post on Youtube Our fave bit is that posts can be categorised in more detail on this site, with options to share links to iBooks and songs from iTunes and even movies via themoviedb.org. Vero's slogan is 'True Social' and, as of Monday evening, it was still showing up as free to download on the App Store, so it seems there's still time to get in there before you get charged. Vero What are you waiting for? That tweet about baby Stormi's toes can wait. We're off to erm..get Vero-ing.
