ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born in Edmonton AB, Kathleen began storytelling in grade school. She has many
fond memories of passing summer afternoons, out on the swings in her backyard,
creating tales that entertained her neighborhood friends. When she finally
decided to venture from her backyard, Kathleen pursued a career in storytelling.
She graduated from college with a Diploma in Radio and Television Arts and
traveled the path of freelance writing for numerous local newspapers. Many years
later, too many to talk about without seeming rude and nosey, Kathleen has
channeled her imagination to the pages of her novels. She hopes that you enjoy
her tales and encourages you to feel free to read her stories on the swing set
in your own backyard. Kathleen has traveled from Edmonton, to a new backyard
with a lovely mountain view. She spends time there with her beloved husband,
adored son and silly dog. They let her tell them stories and always laugh in all
of the correct places. She’s lucky, and she knows it. --This text refers to the

I really enjoyed reading this book and fell in love with penelope. even though
her relationship with scott was out of control I was routing for her to persue
it but at the same time wanted her relationship with ben to continue as well.
The author was was very good at making u fall in love with the leading lady and
the men in her life I couldn't pick one over the other at first. The
relationship with scott was new and exciting and makes u relate to the first
time you had a crush but the sister in laws were always level headed and said it
how it was which helped penelope stay grounded. It was nice that everyone was so
close and the author was also very good at showing the love they all had for
each other. nice light hearted book which would make a good holiday novel as
well!

ok, so its a fairly short story, read it in a few hours, did NOT have a
predictable ending so much, certainly not for me anyway!! It was a love story
with a difference, and to be honest it was a nice change, its a bit slow in
places but stick with it, it gets there in the end! not sure if it goes in my

I'm not a big fan of American writers, especially those who try 'chic lit'. I
couldn't relate to any of the characters, there is no real description - except
of course of clothing which seems to be a common thread (excuse the pun).
The main character is supposed to be funny and the joker, she says that about
herself a few times, yet their are no sharp or witty comments from her in the
entire book!
I always like to read a book to the end but this was just so cheesy, predictable
and well 'American' I wish I hadn't bothered.

for a neutral rating; but I got to the end of this book and thought - so what!
Nothing original or particularly outrageous happened to and the characters, and
they all had very little depth or reflection to recommend them. I am slightly
concerned to think that I have friends with better story lines than these. By
the end, it even felt as if the author wanted to pack up the book quickly, as
the last chapter paces through time and concludes quickly.
