GOLDEN TOUCH BAKERY AND RESTAURANT INC.

We produce Jamaican style pastry and unique exotic dishes. The business was
established in August 2020 to bring the rich, exciting, and memorable flavors of
the Jamaican home-style taste to Canada. Golden Touch Bakery & Restaurant Inc.
is located in Edmonton, Alberta and intends to penetrate Western Canada and
beyond.

The idea of establishing a Jamaican style bakery was coined by Fitz Mains, one
of the main founders of Golden Touch Bakery and Restaurant Inc. Fitz is a proud
Jamaican Canadian, who lives and breathes baking. His passion for a Bakery was
spurned by responsibility of helping out in the home to take care of his younger
siblings early in life. His need to learn basic cooking and baking skills were
inspired from about the age of 10. His baking skills were further inspired in
his teens when the opportunity arose for him to work part-time in a local
community bakery in Jamaica. His interest in baking increased further and this
took him to another bakery where he became involved in the baking of cakes for
Crazy Jim and Cremo, two prominent distributors of baked products in Jamaica.

Upon his arrival in Canada in 2008, Fitz could not find any ice-cream products
that had the fresh,unique flavorful taste comparable or equal to that from
Jamaica. He started baking bullas at home and would often share with his friends
who were amazed at his talents. His friends kept asking for more as they could
not find anything of that quality in the city. He then had a brilliant idea to
share this product and others throughout the city. His desire is to touch the
heart of the city with his baking. Once you start eating, you just can’t stop.

Garfield Aikman, the head chef of Golden Touch Bakery & Restaurant Inc., hails
from the community of Alps in Trelawny, Jamaica. He has fond memories of growing
up with his grandmother around the coal stove as she nurtured his curiosity and
interest in cooking. His passion for cooking was born. At the tender age of six,
he was helping to cook for his grandmother and uncles.Joining his mother in
Ontario, Canada in 1976, he recalls helping her with meals as he cooked for his
siblings while she went to work. To develop his skills he enrolled in cooking
classes. He seeks to bring to the Albertan community a fusion of North American
and Jamaican style cooking with a unique blend of Jamaican seasonings.
