31 DAYS OF FIVE MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 12: PRAISE

Linking up again with the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing bloggers!

It’s not too late to link up with us!

Today’s prompt word is PRAISE!

Starting my timer………
------------------------------------------

“I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will PRAISE you in this storm!”

The first thing that came to mind when I saw “PRAISE”

As our prompt word for today

Was this song!!

This morning was rough-

Full of lots of little annoyances

And inconveniences.

Then, I see PRAISE, and I knew what to write.

I will PRAISE Him in my storm.

You know those storm cells that move through

And the rain isn’t hard,

Instead, it’s that annoying misting that

Doesn’t really require an umbrella,

But it’s a non-stop annoyance?

That’s how my morning started.

It was nothing big or major;

Instead, it was all just misty rain!

But instead of wasting the rest of my morning in tears,

I WILL PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM
BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL WHO YOU ARE!!

31 DAYS OF FIVE-MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 9: INSPIRE

Linking up again with the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing bloggers!
It’s not too late to link up with us!

Today’s prompt word is INSPIRE!

Starting my timer………
------------------------------------------

I live in a world full of little humans.

I have my four along with

350 more who watch my every move!

Every day

-day in and day out-

I have to watch what I say and what I do

Because of the little humans.

Will my words inspire a child to make good choices?

Or will my words inspire a child to make poor choice?

Will my actions inspire others to seek God?

Or will my actions inspire others to NOT seek Him?

I once heard a saying,

“So often you find that the students
You’re trying to inspire
Are the ones that end up
Inspiring you!”

This is so true!

I live my life hoping to inspire others for good;

To inspire others to seek HIM.

But I see all the time

That those I am trying to inspire

Are daily inspiring ME to be a better version of myself.

What inspires you?

31 DAYS OF FIVE MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAYS 5 & 6: SHARE & BELONG

Linking up again with the
31 Days of Five-Minute Free Writing bloggers!
It’s not too late to link up with us!!

Today’s prompt word is SHARE (and BELONG)!

Starting my timer………
------------------------------------------

Mother Teresa once said,

“If we have no peace, it is because

we have forgotten that we belong to each other”

What does that quote have to do with “SHARE?”

We are put together in this world to share with one another.

We share our homes with our family.

We share our job with our co-workers.

We share our schools with our classmates.

We share our faith with fellow believers.

We share this life with each other.

So, if we are not at peace in this life,

it is because we have forgotten

that we are here for one another;

To share with one another;

To belong to one another.

The moment that a person feels

as though they are not at peace

 is the very moment they NEED

to share...

to connect...

to belong.

31 DAYS OF FIVE-MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 4: WHY?

Linking up again with the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing bloggers!
It’s not too late to link up with us!

Today’s prompt word is WHY.

Starting my timer, but reader beware, this post is a teary one….

I just got back form a funeral.

This funeral was for my brother’s best friend.

They have been best friends for 13 years.

Last year when my brother bought his house,

His best friend moved in.

They were practically brothers.

Last week, my brother’s best friend committed suicide.

Why?

Why was he hurting so much that this was his only option?

Why did he say good-bye his two beautiful little girls?

Why did he say good-bye to his family?

Why did he say good-bye to his friends?

Why did he say good-bye to this world?

Why didn’t anyone see the signs?
(Were there even any signs)

So many why’s going unanswered?

WHY????

31 DAYS OF FIVE MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 3: BELIEVE

Linking up again with the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing bloggers!
It’s not too late to link up with us!

Today’s prompt word is BELIEVE… setting my timer now!!

Believe
We tell our children from a very young age what to believe.
From Santa Claus to salvation,
We ask them to believe.
We ask our children to exercise faith from before they can
Ever begin to understand the concept.

Encouraging children to believe in Santa Claus has its pros and cons.

One argument suggests that teaching them to believe in Santa
Helps them to believe in things they cannot see

Like GOD!

The other side argues that encouraging this belief is a lie.
What if the children discover that Santa was a lie they believed in,
So how do they know that GOD is not a lie like Santa was?

How do you teach children to believe?

How do YOU believe?

How do you know that what you believe is true?

How is your belief right and others wrong?

Who’s to say you aren’t wrong and others are right?

What do you believe and how do you know?

31 DAYS OF FIVE MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 2: AFRAID

Linking up again with the 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writing bloggers!
It’s not too late to link up with us!

Today’s prompt word is AFRAID… setting my timer now!!

Afraid
When my 2nd son was about 4 years old,
it seemed as though he was ALWAYS afraid.

Afraid of what though?

He was afraid of people maybe?

Or perhaps he was afraid of talking?

Maybe he was afraid of messing up?

Or maybe he was just afraid and did not know why?

The doctor said he had “social anxiety and selective mutism.”

So what does that mean?

The way he explained it was as follows:

“Essentially, when he feels a sense of anxiety for whatever reason,
He is having an internal panic attack.
He will shut down.
He will not talk.
He is not being defiant or deliberate.
He just does not know HOW to communicate in the midst of the fear.”

But my GOD is not a God of fear.

He is a God of power, love and a SOUND MIND.

I began praying for peace and calm over my little boy.

I prayed that God would equip him with the following:

A SPIRIT OF POWER;

A SPIRIT OF LOVE;

And

A SOUND MIND.

Within a year, my kid was a new kid!

God is good.

My son is no longer afraid.

God has given my kiddo all that I asked…and more!

31 DAYS OF 5-MINUTE FREE WRITING- DAY 1: STORY

Here we are in October.
HOW ON EARTH DID THAT HAPPEN????
This year seems to have flown by – we MUST be having fun, right?

Well, in October, in the blogging world, we do something called:
31 Days of Five-Minute Free Writing!

Sounds fun, right?

You should link up!!

So, here’s how it works.
Every day, there is a one-word prompt.

Set your timer for 5-minutes,
and write whatever your little heart
desires for FIVE minutes only!
Here are the 31 words- in case you’re interested:

Today’s word is STORY.

Let me set my timer and get started….

Once upon a time.
Every good story begins with those four words:
Once-Upon-A-Time.

So, I supposed I should start mine that way so it’ll feel like a “real” story….

Once upon a time, in the land of nowhere, lived a little girl with no hair.

She cried because she thought she was ugly.
Her sister told her that she was lovely;
Her brother told her that she was lucky;
Her mother told her she was brave;
her father told her she was courageous.
Every day that she fought the tears, she felt tenacious.

As she walked into that room of wires and vials,
she knew she had to be courageous.
She was fighting a battle,
but was determined to keep up the smiles.

Now she has a head full of hair.
Her sister still says she was lovely;
her brother still says she was lucky;
her mother still calls her brave;
her dad still says she was courageous.

And even though her battle is over, her story is outrageous.
