This shade sail is a good budget-friendly option, measuring 14' diagonally
(corner to corner) on a rectangular sail. *Your size may be different. Depending
upon the look you prefer, you may want to go smaller or larger than the space
you want to shade. I choose to cover the majority of the width of my patio with
a sail, purchasing hardware (sold separately) to attach the sail to beams on
either side of my patio between our garage and an outbuilding.

NOTE: The rectangular shaped sail does not have perfectly straight edges. (See
photo.)

The directions encourage having 1/2 foot to 2 feet of distance between the
d-hook at the corner of the sail to your connection. I purchased separately, the
hardware needed to attach this sail to the beams - not included with the sail.
There are lots of ways to put up the sail, but make sure at least one edge is
lower than the other three to allow for water run off.

Ideally, this sail would have grommets for strength, but to save money in
construction, they put in D-rings. Time will tell if this construction is
durable, but at first glance, the sail appears well made and sturdy enough to
withstand windy days.

I was going to buy another patio umbrella, but decided a sun shade sail would be
a better option in terms of budget and cover a larger area. It's more versatile,
but a little trickier to put up.

Before putting up the sail, measure out where you want to place your hardware.
When connecting it, secure one corner, move to the second corner, third, and
then fourth. Tighten one corner a little bit, then move to the second, working
your way around. Repeat. By tightening one corner a little bit at a time, you'll
get more of an even pull on each corner.

This sun shade sail filters direct sun and makes whatever area you cover with it
cooler. I recommend it. But the instructions are small and if you've never put
one up, check out YouTube to get tips.

it hangs diagonally and at an angle, that size is perfect. I first bought a
6x6x6 and a 7x7x7, but they were too small.

WHAT WIND SPEEDS CAN SHADE SAILS WITHSTAND?

Shade sails are typically designed to withstand light to moderate wind speeds.
Our shade sails come in two materials: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) 190GSM
can withstand wind speeds of up to 50 mph. Polyester 220GSM can handle wind
speeds of up to 55 mph, ensuring stability even in harsh weather conditions.
