The royals in attendance included The Princess Royal, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke of York and a number of the monarch's grandchildren. Following the short service, the family got out of their cars before the bridge over the River Dee and walked the remaining stretch of road to view the floral tributes which had been left for The Queen. Princess Eugenie laid a bouquet of flowers and Prince Andrew could be heard telling the crowd: "We’ve been allowed one day, now we start the process of handing her on." Among the members of devoted staff who attended the service was the late Queen's Page of the Backstairs, Paul Whybrew. Mr Whybrew served The Queen for many decades and not only did he famously tackle intruder Michael Fagan out of Her Majesty's bedroom in 1982, but he appeared alongside her during her famous sketch with Daniel Craig as James Bond for the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. READ MORE: The Queen dies aged 96 at her Balmoral estate surrounded by family Paul Whybrew was at The Queen's side during the famous James Bond skit for The Olympics (Image: Getty) Paul Whybrew gained the nickname 'Tall Paul' during his time in royal service and was said to be a "near constant presence" for The Queen during lockdown and has been praised time and again for his closeness to the late monarch. An early sign of his loyalty came on July 9, 1982 when he wrestled Michael Fagan to the ground after the famous intruder broke into the Queen's bedroom at Buckingham Palace. After calming Fagan down, he offered him a whiskey. The courtier was also given pride of place at The Queen's side when she took part in the now legendary cameo with Daniel Craig as James Bond in the sketch for the Olympic Games in 2012. Although she was not spotted today, Her Majesty's close friend and dresser Angela Kelly was an immense source of comfort to her during her bouts of ill health. Before The Queen's passing, a source told the Daily Mail: "She's been wrapping the Queen up in cotton wool. She's been very overprotective and ensuring that Her Majesty hasn't been doing too much." Members of the Royal Family have gathered outside Balmoral (Image: PA) On their return to Balmoral from a short prayer service, members of the Royal Family - led by Her Majesty's youngest sons, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward - stepped out of their cars to walk the remainder of the journey towards the castle. PROMOTED STORIES They stopped to look at the flowers and read tributes, while Princess Eugenie was seen laying a bunch of flowers with the rest of the tributes. The Duke of York at one moment was seen putting his arm around his youngest daughter as she wiped a tear from her eyes. Her Majesty's eldest granddaughter, Zara Tindall, also fought back the tears as she viewed the tributes with her mother Princess Anne, her brother Peter Phillips and her step-father, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. King Charles III is officially named our new monarch - in pictures View gallery Among those present was the late Queen's only daughter, The Princess Royal, who is said to have been at Her Majesty's side along with now-King Charles as she passed away. Earlier today, The King was officially proclaimed in an ancient service at St James's Palace before the Accession Council. Also present was The Queen Consort and The new Prince of Wales.
