Lesezeit Let's learn about the benefits of adopting Flexible User License apps from the experience of a Technical Product Owner at Continental Automotive using Flexible User License. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Hello? Please briefly introduce yourself. What are you responsible for? A: I am a Technical Product Owner for JIRA and Confluence at Continental Automotive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Could you briefly introduce your company? What kind of customers do you serve primarily? A: Continental is one of the largest Automotive parts suppliers. Our customers are all Automotive OEMs (e.g. Mercedes Benz, VW, HYUNDAI, KIA, and many more) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Tell me about your team - how big is it? What does a typical day look like? What are some of your responsibilities? A: We have a large team divided into Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. We support several Tools required for Agile Development (e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, etc.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Before using the Flexible User License, what challenges did you face as an Atlassian administrator? A: We are often faced with issues with free available licenses. We had to do cleanup manually from DB. To explain a bit more, we often get users trying to log in to Confluence or Jira and being told they can't access them because they don't have a license. In these cases, we must reallocate the licenses, which is an ongoing process of removing them manually from the DB and reallocating them again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Does using a Flexible User License help you meet those challenges? A: Yes, it does. Auto Remove helps us to keep the license pool free. Setting up automatic removals has been very helpful, as it allows me to manage licenses based on set criteria. I can set my criteria for removing users who haven't logged in for a long time, and it will reclaim the licenses of users who haven't logged in to Confluence or Jira for a long time, which saves me a lot of effort from having to check and revoked licenses manually. * Learn more about Auto Remove Auto Remove -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Would you recommend Flexible User License to other Atlassian administrators? Why? A: Yes, I will. It is easy to set up and configure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: In particular, what features would you recommend? A: Force Remove, and Auto Remove was the most helpful. I think Forced removal is a complementary feature to automatic removal. While automatic removal is a feature that manages licenses on a schedule, forced removal is useful because it allows you to set a maximum number of users in a license group, and it immediately removes users from the license group in order of the oldest login time, giving you more flexibility in managing licenses. * Learn more about Force Remove Force Remove -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What has been the most positive change since the adoption of the Flexible User License? A: As I mentioned earlier, I used to have to delete users from the DB and add new users manually, but since the Flexible User License app handles these tasks automatically, it has eliminated most of the inconvenience of managing licenses, and users in the company have been contacting me less often because they can't log in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Download the Flexible User License APP * Open Source Consulting Marketplace -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dies wurde von noch niemandem gelikt
