BBC radio presenter Lisa Shaw (pictured left and centre), 44, died at the Royal
Victoria Infirmary (top right) in Newcastle just over three weeks after her
first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, heard coroner Karen Dilks. An inquest,
which lasted less than an hour, was told Shaw was admitted to hospital after she
complained of headaches and doctors found a haemorrhage on her brain. Blood
clots from AstraZeneca's Covid vaccine (file photo, bottom right) are extremely
rare but can kill up to a quarter of the few affected patients, according to a
recent study. UK regulators saw 411 instances of vaccine-induced immune
thrombocytopenia and thrombosis after AstraZeneca's jab up to July 28. A total
of 43 cases occurred after a second dose. The complication prompted UK health
chiefs to recommend all under-40s get Pfizer or Moderna instead. In a statement
issued after the hearing, Shaw's family said: 'The death of our beloved Lisa has
left a terrible void in our family and in our lives. She truly was the most
wonderful wife, mum, daughter, sister and friend.' Rik Martin, acting executive
editor at BBC Radio Newcastle, said at the time of Shaw's death: 'We've lost
someone special who meant a great deal to a great many people.'

threat is credible, it is imminent, it is lethal.' Last night, the UK told its
Afghan allies to head for the border rather than attempt to get into Kabul
airport, prompting a huge rush to Pakistan.

their £1million villa in the south of Menorca on Tuesday. An ambulance was
called but Mrs Mogford, who is of Greek descent, could not be saved and was
declared dead in hospital. She married Mr Mogford in June 2019 following the
death of his first wife, Barbara, 61, from breast cancer in 2016. He has two
daughters who are around the same age as his second wife. The cause of death has
not been confirmed by Spanish officials. Mrs Mogford had posted a number of
photographs of their holiday on social media, including ones of her sunbathing
on their £2million yacht.

Footage captured in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, shows the young boy escape injury as the
ceiling fan falls onto him as he eats dinner with his family. During the clip,
which was filmed on July 8, the family of six sit on the floor for their dinner
when the child appears to hear a noise and looks at the ceiling. Just moments
