Welcome To Big Apple Safety



Big Apple wants to help you make your business more efficient and productive,
through improved Health and Safety within it.

We provide solutions for businesses seeking improvement in Health and Safety
culture and performance. We can deliver all aspects associated with this,
covering strategy, systems or processes, and behaviours throughout the business.

Our staff are experienced, insightful Health and Safety professionals who
partner with clients, to deliver the solutions they seek. Our service packages
are bespoke, tailored to meet individual client needs. We can add value to your

JOHN HANLEY CMIOSH
DIRECTOR

Following a highly successful long term tenure as Group ESH Director for a major
London based international construction, project management and facilities
management organisation, John established Big Apple Safety Ltd (BASL) to
continue to provide a leading service of health, safety and environmental
support to leading clients. In support of his well-established technical skills,
John’s strengths include highly recognised leadership and influencing skills.
These have been arduously road tested and honed, in successfully leading the
delivery of high end Health & Safety performance on some of the most iconic, and
recent, construction development projects in London and internationally. John
promotes the necessity and advantages of having a “well-developed strategy” as
opposed to “a well-developed H&S management system”. This is necessary for an
organisation to meet the high performance expectations that its board of
directors should expect in accordance with their corporate responsibility
objectives and profile. A key objective for John is to develop a strategy that
supports continuous performance improvement whilst minimising bureaucracy in its
implementation.


DOUG HAMILTON BSC (HONS) CENG MIMECHE
DIRECTOR

Doug is a Director of BASL. By training a Mechanical Engineer, he is an
experienced Business Executive, and Leader. He has a proven and wide range of
business skills, developed across his career, covering Engineering, Project
Management, Business Strategy, Leadership, Management and Improvement. He has
led small and large teams to successful project and business delivery.  His
experience has been supported by expert practice and knowledge in behavioural
techniques, to develop high performing teams. Doug has delivered multiple
successful behavioural consultancy projects, mainly on safety improvement, with
major clients such as Alstom, Amey, BG, Keppel, Mace, Scottish Water Solutions,
Severn Trent Water and United Utilities.
