Star Ocean The Second Story R gets a launch trailer
Set to release on November 2nd, Star Ocean The Second Story R is a full remake
of the second title in the Star Ocean series, which originally launched on the
PlayStation in 1998. A remastered version Second Evolution was developed by Tose
for the PlayStation Portable in 2008. This version of the game features newly
built 3D environments while retaining 2D sprites for characters and enemies. You
can select between Claude or Rena as your protagonist and recruit many other
characters to your party. Side events can be initiated with these characters
that will impact the game's ending depending on your choices. The also game
features a fully re-arranged soundtrack by the original composer Motoi Sakuraba.
A new feature called "Assault Action" will allow you to use reserve party
members in battle, and even characters that cameo from other Star Ocean titles
including Roddick (Star Ocean: The First Departure), Fayt (Star Ocean: Til the
End of Time), Edge (Star Ocean: The Last Hope), Fidel (Star Ocean: Integrity and
Faithlessness) and Raymond and Laeticia (Star Ocean: The Divine Force). Star
Ocean The Second Story R will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo

Fall Guys collaboration arrives in Final Fantasy XIV on October 31
At Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival in London, the team shared an update about
the upcoming Fall Guys collaboration coming to the game. Developed with the
Mediatonic team it will be a cycling event that will be available for a limited
time and will return at later periods. The first run will be available in-game
on October 31st alongside Patch 6.51. Fall Guys is an online multiplayer game
where players compete in various creative obstacle courses that require elements
of platforming (and luck) to succeed. Given some of the Gold Saucer's existing
challenges, such as the Leap of Faith or Anywhere the Wind Blows, the Fall Guys
collaboration feels like a natural, albeit odd fit. The events will also feature

Final Fantasy XVI collaboration coming to Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy XIV will soon collaborate with Final Fantasy XVI in a new
crossover event revealed at the game's Fan Festival in London today alongside
updates on the Dawntrail expansion. Featuring the protagonist Clive Rosfield
seen in The Bowl of Embers where players fought Ifrit, it appears we will be
battling the Final Fantasy XVI version of Ifrit in some form. The event, titled
"The Path Infernal", is designed to not spoil any story beats of the PlayStation
5-exclusive hack and slash, and will feature a variety of rewards including
Clive's outfit and a Torgal mount and minion. The team wants you to think of the
event as an introduction to the world of Final Fantasy XVI and it is developed
alongside upcoming DLC. No date has been revealed for the collaboration at this

Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail reveals Viper job, new locations and FFXI collab
At Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival in London, UK, we learned new details about
the game's fifth expansion Dawntrail, scheduled to release in Summer 2024. After
the conclusion of the ark that elapsed from Version 1.0 to the Endwalker
expansion, the Warrior of Light will journey west across the ocean to the land
of Tural. In this expansion, players will be able to take on two new combat
jobs, one of which is a melee DPS called Viper. The other job, a caster damage
dealer, will be revealed at a later time. Additionally, we've learned that a new
alliance raid will collaborate with Final Fantasy XI in celebration of more than
20 years of operation. On the subject of collaborations, an event collaborating
with Final Fantasy XVI was also announced. You can check out the details and

All Saints’ Wake returns to Final Fantasy XIV on October 27, 2023
The All Saints Wake limited-time seasonal event returns to Final Fantasy XIV
from October 27th through November 13th, 2023. Subtitled "What Could Taste
Better than Fear?," a short scenario quest will be available in game with a
variety of seasonal rewards. Limited time items from previous years' iterations
of the event can also be purchased from the Online Store at a discount. Take a
look at the event details below, and, while you're here, check out where to
unlock new content in Patch 6.5, which released on October 3, 2023. This patch
continued main scenario with Growing Light, and concluded the alliance raid
series Myths of the Realm. Further updates will include a final story update, a
new Variant Dungeon, upgrades to weapons and tools, and additional sidequests.

Final Fantasy XI’s October 2023 update changes Caedarva Mire spawns, Ambuscade
objectives
In Final Fantasy XI's October update, which is available to download now,
players can expect the typical monthly Ambuscade refresh, this time with Trolls
and Dverger swapped in as well as the corresponding Records of Eminence
objectives. The Dvergr can summon Tomes to boost their abilities, and as long as
a Tome is present, the Dvergr will remain boosted, so in order to earn your
hallmarks, you'll have to concern yourself with defeating the Tomes quickly.
Additionally, the HP for the notorious monster Ronove has been reduced by 20%.
The team has also made adjustments to monster placement in a sector of the
Caedarva Mire, where the HMN Khimaira has been moved to another sector in the
same area (Hediva Isle) to avoid crowding in with the sector where the Locus Imp
was added as part of the previous version update. Also, Heraldic Imps and
Soulflayer monsters that appeared in this same sector will no longer. In other
news, the October 2023 Login Campaign has begun, awarding points to those who
log in between now and November 2nd. The points can be redeemed for a variety of
goodies, including this month's featured Erudite's Staff for 500 points.

Where to unlock new content and features in Final Fantasy XIV 6.5
The fifth major patch to follow Final Fantasy XIV‘s Endwalker expansion update
goes live Tuesday, October 3rd. Patch 6.5 features new content and features that
we’ve summarized below — including where to unlock them. The main scenario will
be divided into two parts, as is customary with the final update series for an
expansion. Part one will be available in Patch 6.5, while part two will arrive
with Patch 6.55 in mid-January 2024. This patch concludes the current scenario

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis announced for PC
Recently released mobile gacha title Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is heading
to PC, Square Enix announced today. The PC version is still in development and
will share data with the mobile version upon release. Not much else was revealed
but the game is currently available for iOS and Android devices as of September
7. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is mobile game is a pocket edition of sorts
that goes through the story of Final Fantasy VII and the stories of its original
Compilation. The game features a chapter-structured single player experience
along with new story elements penned by original series author Kazushige Nojima

Exploring the regions of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is already proving to be vast, as we saw
during stage festivities at this year's Tokyo Game Show. With the weekend done
and dusted, Square Enix has sent over a number of new screenshots detailing some
of the expansive areas you'll explore in your time with the game when it
launches for PlayStation 5 on February 29 next year. There's that, some
activities you'll be able to do and returning characters from Final Fantasy VII
Remake. Let's take a look: Exploring Kalm & the Grasslands Regions of the World
Cloud and friends will journey across a large, open world where each region
feels unique - completely with different enemies to encounter and different ways
to go about its terrain. Each area comes full of new quests and rare treasures
as long as you're willing to explore. The Grasslands A vast expanse of land that
is rich with mako. There are smaller outposts and planetary fonts waiting for
discovery across these plains. There's more to be had beyond the swamplands, but
you'll need to rent a chocobo from the local ranch to make your way across. Gold

Foamstars previews open beta gameplay modes and characters
Foamstars is a new online shooter from Square Enix, and features characters who
use foam-based weapons to spray foam at each other and on the arena itself. The
foam can be layered to make vantage points or cover, and by "foaming up" another
character and subsequently surfing over foam and into them, you can knock
enemies out of play. This coming weekend (September 29th through October 1st) an
open beta will be held on PlayStation 5 where two gameplay modes will be
available: Smash the Star and Happy Bath Survival, each bringing a twist on how
players operate within a team. Square Enix has also given us a rundown of all
the characters that include their unique weapons and skills, as well as their
bubble beastie friends. There will be eight characters to choose from in the
open beta. Foamstars is currently announced for an early 2024 release on
