ABOUT ARAPALERT

In Arapahoe County, ArapAlert utilizes the CodeRed system to allow Public Safety
Agencies to warn citizens/residents/visitors of danger and other important
information. With ArapAlert, the agencies can call, text or email multiple
individuals and businesses to warn of dangerous suspects, flood, fire, or
chemical spills.

Please note that the City of Aurora is not part of this system. If you live or
work in the City of Aurora and would like to sign up for their notification
system, please visit City of Aurora Citizen Alert.

If you are not in Arapahoe County you can use Emergency Notification Systems to
find information on the emergency notification system in your area of Colorado.

HOW IT WORKS

An ArapAlert notification recording will let you know it's a message from your
public safety agency. ArapAlert caller identification should display 'EMERGENCY
COMM' and the phone number (866) 419-5000. Non-emergency messages will come from
(855) 969-4636 and weather warnings will come from (800) 566-9780. All types of
text messages will come from 76127. Please program all of these numbers into
your contacts so you will know that you are receiving an ArapAlert notification.

ArapAlert also works with a telecommunications device for the hearing impaired
(TDD/TTY).

If the line is busy, ArapAlert will keep calling back. ArapAlert will attempt to
leave a message. If you don\'t get a message, or would like to hear it again,
call (866) 419-5000 to receive the last message sent to your area.

THE APP

ArapAlert also has an emergency notification app. Unlike the database, the
ArapAlert app will give you notifications when you are in geographic proximity
to a warning area. For instance, you might visit a friend or family member who
is within the warning area. The app will detect your proximity and provide you
the same warning given to those who live and work in that area. You can download
the app from your app store.

OPT-IN

ArapAlert reaches numbers from two databases. One is the 911 database, which
contains all listed and unlisted landlines in Arapahoe County. If you have a
landline, it is automatically included in this database.

The second database is made up of Comcast Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP*)
numbers (if you have a bundled internet/phone/ television service you probably
have a VoIP line), and email addresses owned by people who have opted-in to
receive the calls.

If you do or do not have a traditional landline phone, and would like to receive
a text, email or cell phone call in addition to the call on your landline or
Comcast phone, consider registering for this free service. To register, visit
the ArapAlert phone registry.

Through the ArapAlert cell registration, you can add additional numbers and
locations to your profile. For example, if you work in Arapahoe County, you may
want to add your work address to your profile so you receive notifications
related to incidents in that area. Other examples may include:

 * Your children\'s school
 * Frequent places of recreation
 * Family members\' place of work or school

ArapAlert utilizes the CodeRed Notification system. If you already have a
CodeRed account in another city/county/Stat, simply sign into that account and
add your Arapahoe County address and make sure your contact information is up to
date.

modify your profile without completely opting-out of notifications.
