specialising in women's reproductive health and fertility

As both a fertility specialist and gynaecologist, I am uniquely placed to help
women navigate their reproductive health at every age and stage of life. I
maintain a special interest in helping women overcome fertility challenges
through IVF and other specialty treatments.



From general gynaecology care and advanced laparoscopic surgery to tailored
fertility plans and IVF, I provide the high-level expertise patients need to
manage all aspects of their reproductive health. My wide-ranging experience
means I can offer outstanding continuity of care to women across their lifespan
– giving them the confidence of knowing they will be looked after by the same
person.

My training as a private obstetrician and gynaecologist began in 2004 at Box
Hill Hospital. It has since taken me to many of Melbourne’s finest women’s
hospitals, with my principal training being at the Mercy Hospital for Women in
Heidelberg.

Since then, I have undertaken advanced fellowships in fertility and reproductive
laparoscopic surgery at Monash Medical Centre and the Mercy Hospital for Women,
as well as at Monash IVF. I have also completed a Master of Reproductive
Medicine, and have authored book chapters and research publications related to
IVF treatment.

I currently work at the Mercy Hospital as the Head of the Reproductive Biology
Unit for Women and am a lecturer at the University of Melbourne. I am also a
co-founder and Clinical Director at Newlife IVF, a Melbourne-based specialist
fertility centre offering comprehensive fertility care to women and couples –
from fertility testing through to IVF.

JAN HOWARD

Jan has been Practice Manager since 2014 and has extensive experience working in
the healthcare industry. Jan is an accomplished secretary who is warm and
friendly and is available to answer your questions to ensure that your
experience is as smooth as possible. Outside of work, Jan keeps busy with
pilates, netball and looking after her daughters.

RACHEL FLETCHER

Rachel has been with us since 2016, having worked in the healthcare industry
since 2010. With experience as a practice manager, PA and secretary, she has
been a valuable addition to our team right from day 1. You’ll find Rachel to be
welcoming, friendly and efficient – and she’s always happy to help. Outside of
work, Rachel spends time with her two kids, and enjoys live music, movies and
yoga.

Dr Chris Russell is a highly skilled fertility specialist and gynaecologist who
is uniquely placed to care for women at every life stage. From the management of
complex gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS to recurrent
miscarriage, fertility care and IVF, Chris can offer outstanding continuity of
care across a woman’s lifetime.


ATTENDING CONSULTATIONS AND PROCEDURES



You can book fertility and gynaecology consultations with me at any of my three
Melbourne-based consulting suites located in Box Hill, Clayton and East
Melbourne. If you require gynaecological surgery, this will be performed at the
Epworth Freemasons in East Melbourne. If you require egg freezing or an
IVF-related procedure, such as egg collection or embryo transfer, this will be
performed at Newlife IVF‘s state-of-the-art treatment centre in Box Hill.
