What is a mobility industry?

A group of business organizations and stakeholders addressing global mobility
trends such as ride-hailing, ridesharing, and electrification fleets that are
changing business models.  Providers of connectivity and autonomous driving
technologies enable a whole new world of possibilities for the vehicle travel
experience.  The mobility industry looks at how the car of the future will
impact how people interact with vehicles and vehicle ownership.

What is the future of mobility?

The market will become more complex as ride-sharing platforms and self-driving
cars will give consumers an increasing number of options for personal mobility. 
Automakers and suppliers will need to adapt their products and business models
to ensure they are prepared for greater diversity, the resizing of markets,
battery charging needs, and related responses from electric power markets.

How big is the mobility market?

$0.5 Trillion in mobility revenues are expected by 2031, globally.

How many % of all vehicle miles traveled globally could be via mobility

When will battery electric vehicles (BEVs) overtake the internal combustion
engine (ICE) in the automotive industry?

Retail price parity is a factor, but this is not the only requirement for a mass
change in consumer behavior in favor of BEVs. Each key driving force is affected
by several variables, all are often highly regionalized, and they form a complex
matrix in which vehicle price is only one part of the equation. Charging
infrastructure and regulatory frameworks must align. Whole-of-life costs,
reliability, and convenience models must improve, and regulation and legislation
must enact changes before any tipping point occurs.

When is the tipping point for an acceleration in EV adoption?

The year 2027 may emerge as a tipping point for an acceleration in EV adoption,
and by 2030 over one in four new passenger cars sold will be an electric
vehicle.

How will the charging landscape change by 2030?

By 2030, over 40%of alternative propulsion vehicles* will feature charging
