Richard Mark Fields

Richard Mark Fields: 1940 – 2024

Richard Mark Fields, 83, passed away June 15, in his home in Show Low, Arizona;
his wife of 41 years at his side.

Dick was the son of Marie Effie Fields and Jess Mark Fields, born in Casper,
Wyoming on July 27, 1940.  After graduating from NCHS in 1958, Dick joined the
US Marine Corp., serving in a security detachment aboard the Oriskany aircraft
carrier and was further deployed to an Artillery Division in California where he
was honorably discharged in 1962.

He joined the Casper Police Department in 1963, working his way from foot patrol
to Chief of Police.  After spending a year working narcotics undercover in
Kirkland, Washington, he also worked undercover in Casper and the surrounding
area during his tenure on the Casper PD.

In 1988, after retiring from the PD, he was instrumental in designing and
implementing the first county-wide computer-aided 911 dispatch center in Wyoming
and served as System Administrator until 1998.

He fathered two children during his marriage to Carol Fields, later marrying
Fayetta Miller.

Playing the guitar and singing from the age of six was a driving force in his
early life and later years. Many other interests, including woodworking and
quilting gave expression to his artistic vision and love of working with his
hands.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Darrel Wright.

He is survived by his first wife, Carol; wife, Fayetta; brother, Ron Fields
(Carol; sister, Marjorie Peterson; sister, Sally Duncan (Art); children (all
loved and included): Cindy Galey (Bryan),  Mark Fields (Carla), Rodger Miller
(Arden), Rachelle Miller, and Robbyn Myers; grandchildren: Tannar Galey
(Shelby), Garret Galey (Kelcee) Mikayla Fields, Kauri Fields, Rochelle

Ronald “Ronnie” Fawcett: 1960 – 2024

Ronald “Ronnie” Gene Fawcett, age 63 of Casper, passed away Saturday, June 15,
2024 at home with his loving family by his side.

Ronnie was born in Denver, Colorado on August 30, 1960. He was raised at the
state training school in Lander, Wyoming. He was later transferred to Casper and
resided at Nowcap until he started to live with host home families. He was one
of the very first athletes in Special Olympics of Wyoming and has competed in
bicycling, bowling, cross country skiing, swimming and weightlifting over the
years.

Ronald enjoyed listening to music and dancing in his earlier years. He had an
ornery streak at times but a great sense of humor. He enjoyed being outside and
camping in his later years when he became wheelchair bound. Ronnie will be
remembered for many things, such as his headphones, batteries, hamburger and
french fries, along with his many mugs filled with diet Pepsi or coffee. Ronnie
made many friends at Nowcap, Circle C Resources, I-Reach, Independent
Opportunities, Advancing Abilities and RCR Inspirations – which it was named
after him.

Ronald is survived by his sister, Susan Kollmann and brother-in-law, Jerry
Kollmann; and his long-time providers: Jason and Jane Bowman; and his
caregivers, Tim Colebert and Dana Wilson; along with the help of RCR
Inspirations and their employees.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday June 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer
Casper Chapel. A reception will follow at the North Casper Clubhouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central
Wyoming Hospice or Special Olympics of Wyoming.

Joyce L. Sloyer: 1935 – 2024

Joyce Leona Sloyer passed away June 15, 2024, with her family by her side.

Born March 19, 1935 to Fredrick and Meryl Roland Nitsch in Box County, Nebraska,
she flourished on the family farm. She loved being with her horses, Border
Collies, cats and any farm animal she had. She was close to her Grandparents,
Aunts, Uncles, cousins and extended family. Joyce graduated from Alliance High
School in 1953.

Joyce met Dale “Bob” Sloyer in Nebraska; the two fell in love and were married
December 29, 1956. The adventure had just begun! They packed up their car and
headed west to sunny California where they started their family. It was in
California where they created lifetime friends and enjoyed playing music and
square dancing together. Joyce loved music and played the guitar, piano and
accordion. She especially loved playing music with Bob and their son, Bruce. In
1969 they started a new chapter, packed up their family and moved to Casper,
Wyoming.

Joyce worked at Woods School and often played guitar alongside her son Bruce at
school dances. She took great pride in her work at Wyoming’s Agency on Aging
knowing she was making a positive impact for the elderly. She was instrumental
in the creation of Casper Area Transportation Coalition (CATC). She served as
President (and other positions) for the CATC Board of Directors. Mobility for
the elderly and people with needs in Casper was very important to her.

Joyce was a collector of antiques and glass, with Murano glass being her
favorite. Bob and Joyce could often be seen at garage sales, antique stores and
gem shows. Joyce loved oil painting, arrowhead hunting, embroidery, crocheting,
gardening, genealogy research, crossword puzzles, cooking and collecting
Zebras.

Joyce never met a stranger. Everyone was always welcome to their home, including
their Thanksgiving and Christmas table, it didn’t matter if she knew them or
not.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Bob, who passed
away in 2007 after 50 years of marriage.

Joyce is survived by her son, Bruce (Victoria) Sloyer; daughter, Jolinda Sloyer,
all of Casper, Wyoming; daughter, Vicki (Stacy) Carley of Boise, Idaho;
grandson, Joshua (Christie) Sloyer of Casper; granddaughters, Jennifer (Jed)
Schrug of Appleton, Wisconsin and Alyssa (Drew) Lockhart of Boise; and brother,
Tommy DuBoy of Norfolk, Nebraska. She also leaves behind eight beautiful great
grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Bustard & Jacoby
Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming. A reception to celebrate Joyce will be held
immediately following in the reception and patio area of Bustard’s Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Oregon Trail Veteran’s Cemetery where she will be laid
to rest and united with her husband Bob.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Meadow Winds Assisted Living
and the loving ladies with Edgewood Hospice Care. The family would also like to
thank her friends who were like family to her for their kindness and concern –
all angels on earth.

The family requests donations be made to a memorial of your choice.
