Courses



Tailor-made training courses, varying in length and content to meet the client’s
needs. Content is dictated by the destinations, activity planned and travel
experience.

 

NEW Online/Remote Business Travel Safety Awareness Training

We have adapted our acclaimed Business Travel Safety Awareness training
programme and are delighted to offer the course online via Skype, Zoom, Webex or
any other video conferencing, webinar platform. Contact us for information.

 

For the Business Traveller, we offer both full or half day Business Travel
Safety Awareness courses.

Hostile Environment Awareness Training courses (HEAT/HET) for journalists, media
workers, NGO’s, charities, not for profit organisations and businesses. HEAT/HET
training courses range from two and five days.

Our renowned one-day Gap Year Travel and Safety courses are held frequently in
London, training gap year, post-university students and those taking a year out,
to stay safe whilst travelling abroad.

We offer bespoke Leisure and Adventure Travel training, and run separate courses
each year for those planning to join the Mongol Rally adventure.

 * Hostile Environment Training
   
   Most of our courses are for media teams, journalists and NGOs working in
   challenging environments. Courses are designed to teach the individual how to
   think on their feet. Typical subjects include situational awareness, personal
   safety, mines & IED, negotiating checkpoints, ballistics & weapons and kidnap
   prevention. All courses, whether two days or up to five days, have a strong
   medical content.
   
    
   
   For the last 15 years we have been working with the Eurovision Academy (part
   of the European Broadcast Union EBU) and run regular 5-day courses in Bavaria
   for many of Europe’s leading media networks and journalists.
   
    
   
   

 * Business Traveller
   
   Corporations and businesses understand the need to safeguard their personnel
   abroad. We assist companies in developing a workable overseas travel policy &
   procedures and then assist with training for their staff.
   
    
   
   Whilst travel procedures will be set out in an organisation’s commitment to
   safe travel, our courses train the individual how to think safe so able to
   react to events on the ground, especially if they are confronted by a
   hazardous situation such as a mugging. The aim is to minimise the risk to the
   traveller so that he or she can maximise their business trip.
   
    
   
   

 * Terrorism Awareness & Response Training
   
   As part of our corporate security consultancy service we help businesses to
   respond to a terrorist attack. Despite often inflated media coverage, the
   likelihood of an attack is remote, however the consequences can be
   catastrophic in terms of severe injury, loss of life as well as reputational
   issues.
   
    
   
   The emerging Protect Duty Legislation (also called Martyn’s Law) requires
   public venues to assess their vulnerability to terrorist attacks, implement
   counter-terrorist action plans and train staff accordingly. Objective Travel
   Safety view your premises to evaluate the risk and provide comprehensive
   plans and training.
   
   

 * Security Advice
   
   Assisting clients with a range of advice; requirements vary depending on the
   destination and the level of experience of the traveller. The needs of a
   young 18-year-old gap year traveller going to South-East Asia for the first
   time will be very different to a mining engineer with a wealth of experience
   working overseas.
   
    
   
   We have good links with many leading UK security providers such as Northcott
   Holdings, Salamanca, Response 24 and RPS Parternship as well as medical
   experts such as the Fleet Street Clinic and Iqarus. We are also partners in
   the FCDO’s Travel Aware initiative.
