   Can you say China 92.3?
   
   I tuned into KSJO 92.3 this morning out of curiousity to see if the
   alternative rock format was still there on this old San Jose classic rock
   station, KSJO. This station used to play Led Zep, Boston, etc.
   
   To my surprise, not only was the indi rock "Save Alternative" format gone,
   but there was some chinese chatter on the morning radio show going on here. I
   caught a couple of Ni Haos while briefly listening. I was kind of shocked
   that this powerful Bay Area Rock FM station had turned chinese.
   
   It turns out the "Save Alternative" music program will move over to 104.9 on
   weekends, or something. I know, this is confusing...
   
   After checking online and it appears this radio station was sold to a company
   called Universal Media Access, and it is now called "China 92.3." So KSJO
   lives on, but it's waving a red Chinese flag. This is now the biggest Chinese
   FM station in the country.

   Tune in here if you're craving Chinese Pop,.. Some folks on yelp may find
   this "new" format interesting. But I don't think I will be able to keep

   One star for this new BS Chinese pop station. I can understand what they're
   singing, but there's a reason I never chose to listen to Asian pop. This is
   it. :(

   About a month ago, this crappy "alternative" station was playing awful music
   (that doesn't sell records or radio advertisements) such as Band of Horses,
   The Smiths, and MGMT. Who listens to that garbage?
   
   Clearly, not a whole lot of people as the format has changed and it now plays
   stuff that sells (nationally and internationally) such as Chinese ballads,
   K-Pop, and J-Pop.
   
   It's good to know that they are slowly improving their music selection.

   Seriously WHAT THE F*CK is going on. I'm Chinese so don't label me as an
   "Alexandra Wallace" type who hate on Asians but seriously with out any
   warning (or if there was warning I totally missed it) a good radio station
   turned into full on Chinese Asian Mandarin speaking full out everything in
   Chinese except for a commercial where they are suggesting that you email them
   at *(somthing in Chinese)* @ "A..O..L" I SUGGEST that you bring back my
   precious smashing pumpkins..

   Today was a VERY sad day. I just discovered that my favorite radio station
   has been changed to an Asian pop station.
   
   If you happen to love alternative AND Asian pop then today isn't quite as bad
   for you. But I happen to love alternative and especially used to love 92.3.
   
   I was driving back to work after my lunch break when I turned to my favorite
   station, 92.3. The song playing sounded a bit strange, not too alternative,
   but I just kept listening. They've never led me astray so I figured the song
   would pick up. I continued driving and I thought that the artist was singing
   in Japanese. I was really confused.... I listened on and was sure that the
   song was Japanese. To my dismay the next song was in Japanese too. I was very
   confused, bewildered and nearly crashed (not really).
   
   As soon as I parked at my office I pulled out my phone and wikipediad 92.3.
   My heart broke when the station was no longer described as alternative. My
   worst fears had been realized. I nearly shed a tear (ok maybe I shed a few).
   Thankfully the music you know and love is still available. But ONLY if you
   have an HD radio. Its on 104.9 HD2.
   
   It was so heart wrenching that I am sitting at my desk writing this review
   update instead of actually doing work. Bad day.
   
   My ears used to be so happy. Now they are all emo and depressed.

   My ears are so happy now!
   
   My friend told me about this station a few months ago and now my radio is
   pretty permanently fixed to this station.
   
   The music is always great. They have the best alternative music and really
   good DJ's. They play a great mix of new music and older music. They also play
   songs that no other station will play because they are not singles. But the
   DJ's have a great ear and know what their listeners will like.
   
   There are also very few commercials which is a definite plus!
   
   If you like alternative then you'll love this station!

   Are you all serious about the change being shitty? Props to AK pointing out
   that if you drive 1 hour a day, you will hear the same song at least 3 times.
   Not to mention they play WAY too much shit from when I was in jr. high. And
   do people really like RHCP that much?
   
   This is why the new format/company is better...
   
   In the last hour, they have played:
   Fleet Foxes
   The National
   Klaxons
   The Smiths
   We Are Scientists
   
   These aren't the best bands in the world, but I've never heard them on a
   commercial radio station (with the exception of the smiths).
   
   And another thing, why does everyone think that KSJO and 105.3 were so
   different? I can't count the number of times that some shitty song came on
   that made me switch to the other, only to realize that the same exact shitty
   song was on....
   
   Lastly, do you really like the old ksjo dj's so much? I mean, I've never met
   them, but whenever any of them talked, the first thing I would think was
   "please don't play Florence and the Machine"...next I would think "now shut
   the hell up".
   
   Even if this no commercial thing doesn't last, I'll be on this station
   infinitely more than anything else besides npr.

   love this new 92.3 station! so glad to actually have something good to listen
   to these days on the radio. see ya live 105- you lost me as well as many
   other faithful fans over the years.
   
   92.3 plays the best old and new favorites and far less commercials than that
   drive you nuts live 105. the new format just switched over on the dial the
   other day and i have been a true and faithful listener. this is a true
   alternative music lovers dream! imagine the return of the 90's kome and tweak
   it up a notch. this will definitely get me listening to the radio more often
   for darn sure.

   I feel like someone just told me Santa Clause isn't real, 92.3 was my
   favorite radio station of all time and today I found out that it has turned
   into a Chinese pop station.
   
   I used to listen exclusively to my iPod in my car. After hearing 92.3 in a
   friend's car I became a believer and started listening to it constantly. They
   played an amazing mix of the newest and best alternative music without being
   repetitive. There were no annoying DJ's and hardly any commercials. It was
   easily the best radio station I've ever come across and now it's gone.
   
   Bring back the alternative 92.3!!!!!!!
   
   If you have an HD radio (which I don't) you can still enjoy the former 92.3
   on 104.9 HD2.

   Poor KSJO.
   
   They're like that cursed piece of real estate that's an all-you-can-eat sushi
   boat buffet one week, and a falafel stand the next, and an uppity pet treat
   boutique the next, and a terrible Korean barbecue the next, and a foot spa
   and tea bar the next...
   
   Oh well.

   OMG I thought it was a joke!!! I thought the guys were goofing around and
   surprise! My favorite alternative station is GONE! WTH!
   
   Really? why? I hate pop, R and B, hip hop, reggaeton and all that garbage
   that a lot of people like to listen to (there are like 20 stations full of
   that anyways) and this was the only station that delivered somewhat decent
   alternative music, now I am screwed, I guess I will have to listen to pandora
   radio the whole time.
   
   I want my station back!!!! gggrr!
