Domain validation (DV) With DV certificates, the protected domain is validated once a year. Validation is performed automatically via email in a matter of seconds. Organisation validation (OV) With OV certificates, the company operating the domain (‘organisation’) is validated. After validation by means of official registry entries, the certificate establishes the legal legitimacy of the operator. Extended validation (EV) The most comprehensive form of validation; in addition to the organisational entry, further legal and operational criteria are reviewed. CA/Browser Forum guidelines form the basis for this validation. NEW KEY PAIRS ARE REQUIRED FOR NEW ORDERS For security reasons, we also require new key pairs when updating your certificates. Please note this in your CSR entry. This allows us to keep up with cryptological standards by creating longer and stronger keys. Furthermore, many server platforms require new CSRs when switching certificates.
