The DCPM project aims to enhance the quality and productivity of intensive care by creating validated virtual patient models using model-based methods and novel system identification technologies for metabolic, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems – the 3 leading causes of intensive care admission, mortality, and cost. Research Objectives (ROs): The proposed program will create a sustainable Model-based Therapeutics consortium with all required core competencies by focusing on 3 main project areas -- from concept to translated clinical implementation. The sub-projects on these 3 areas are built from existing capabilities to create critical mass by ensuring that capabilities are applied to each sub-project. The inter-disciplinary exchanges to enable this outcome will ensure the general objectives are met. ROs are defined, as follows: 1. Development of Glycemic Control for Insulin Insufficient Individuals 2. Development of Next-Generation Cardiovascular System Monitoring & Management 3. Development of Virtual Patient Model of the Human Lung The participating EU partners are: * Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary; BME); * Hochschule Furtwangen University (Germany; HFU); * University of Liège (Belgium; ULG); * Békés County Central Hospital - Pándy Kálmám Member Hospital (Hungary BMKK); * University of Szeged (Hungary; USZ); * Evopro Innovation LLC (Hungary; EVO); * Semmelweis University * Kiskunhalasi Semmelweis Kórház a Szegedi Tudományegyetem Oktató Kórháza Third-country participants: * University of Canterbury (New Zealand; UC) * University of Auckland (New Zealand; UA) Read more about the scientific and research goals of DCPM in Project Introduction!
