CARISSA HAVERLY, DVM Dr. Carissa Haverly grew up in Prescott, Arizona, a small town with a rich cowboy history tucked into the Arizona chaparral. As a child, she dreamed of being an artist, which suited her sensitive and creative demeanor. However, her parents must have known she was meant to be a veterinarian because the name Carissa means “a tender touch.” Carissa always loved animals, and growing up, she had several pocket pets, dogs, cats, and even a horse. Every summer, her clubhouse would become home to local wildlife in need of aid. Once they were healthy, they were returned to the wild. Dr. Carissa attended Northern Arizona University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology and a minor in Studio Art.
