ABOUT THIS EVENT * 10 hours * Mobile eTicket CELEBRATING THE REAL WORLD IMPACT OF THE DIGITIZATION COMMUNITY The 2023 edition of DT’s Annual Cultural Heritage Roundtable is fast approaching and registration is now open! This year we’ll be focusing on how digitization is impacting the community as a whole; from ensuring the historical record of at-risk collections to opening up new avenues of research and study, it’s safe to say that digitization techniques and technology have fundamentally changed the world of cultural heritage. Our Cultural Heritage Roundtables began as small, one-off gatherings between Digital Transitions and our clients, as a formal way for us to gather the community’s collective feedback on their experience with our solutions and how we could work to improve them. Since its inception, the event has grown from a single day at our office to two annual conferences online and in key regions across the United States. Attendees come from a variety of countries, disciplines, and institutions to see the latest digitization technology, learn best practices from experts, discuss workflow tips, and network with other cultural heritage professionals. Whether you work at a gallery, library, archive, museum, corporation, or in media, entertainment, or sports, this event is for you! We invite you to join us in-person for an event celebrating the latest advancements in digitization technology. The event will be held in person in San Francisco on November 1st (and also available online if you absolutely can’t join us in person). There will be morning and afternoon sessions including dedicated time to network. We hope you join us to discuss advancements and practices in our digitization community; we are excited to see you there! For more information, visit our website! WHEN AND WHERE IS THE EVENT? Our Roundtable event is going to be in person and virtual this year! If you can't join us in SF, you will be able to access the event from anywhere with an internet connection with our speakers being live-streamed. We will host the online livestream via Zoom where you will be able to view the presentations from our speakers! The event is scheduled for November 1st, and is an all-day occasion in the Pacific Timezone! WHO'S SPEAKING AT THIS YEAR'S EVENT? FEATURED SPEAKER: Iryna Martyniuk, Chief Keeper of Collections , Ukraine’s National Reserve: Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Julie McVey & Sara Manco, Special Collections, National Geographic Ben Heath, Digitization Officer, The University of Western Australia Don Ross & Tenari Tuatagaloa, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Lauren Gaylord, Pixar Animation Studios Archives Christine Huhn, Head Library Imaging Services, University of California, Berkeley Astrid Smith, Rare Book and Special Collections Digitization Specialist, Stanford University Doug Peterson, Head of R&D, Digital Transitions HAPPY HOUR We will be hosting a happy hour at the end of the event with details to be announced!
