If so, have a look at the Groups and Clients tab here beside. You might find it useful to group your Backup users, but you don't have to. Just want to add the Backup server? * Add your Backup server at Dashboard > Backup servers > Add What is Tickets? * Have a look at the Tickets tab here beside. What more settings are there for Zimonitor? * Have a look at the Settings tab here beside - Do I have to create Groups or Clients? - No, you don't! This is for you who has a larger number of Backup users or if you want to allow your customers to log in to Zimonitor to view a limited number of Backuo sers. If so, read this before you add the Backup server to Zimonitor, it might save you a lot of time. - I have already added my Backup server, is it too late to create Groups and Clients? - No, it can be done manually afterwards as well. Beyond Ahsay's own structure of objects, Zimonitor offer an optional way to structure objects in Groups and Clients that you might find useful. You can organize Backup users in Groups and Clients either manually or automatically. A Backup user from your Backup server can belong to one Client. That Client can belong to one Group. One Group can have many Clients and a Client can have many Backup users. This structure can become handy when you: * have many customers * want to filter the Overview on specific customer(s) * want to give access to some customers just to see their data in Zimontor * store additional data to a group of Backup users Both Groups and Clients can be used for filtering the Overview and for grant access to user of Zimonitor. Groups and Clients can be created manually from the Dashboard and you can assign Backup users to a Client from the Assign Backup users view or from the Edit view of a Backup user. The automated way of creating Clients is configured on the Backup server in Zimonitor and comes with some options: * If each Backup user is a customer, then it might be wise to configure your Backup server to automatically create Clients. * Do you want all Backup users form one Backup server to belong to one Client, that is alo an option For more details, see the Auto-creating Client objects option when you add your server at Dashboard >> Backup servers >> Add, or if you already created your Backup server, you find them at Dashboard >> Backup servers >> List You can have Zimonitor to create tickets based on the status of the Backup jobs. You can configure to what status you want tickets to be created for, and you can also have them automatically closed if Backup jobs to the same Backup set later turn up with a sccessful status. You can also configure Zimonitor to create tickets when there has been a specified number of days since the last successful status has appeared. You find the ticket settings at Settings >> Tickets GENERAL SETTINGS The first you have to do is to select the general settings, meaning Standard or Day rule. STANDARD Using the Standard setting, tickets are created based on Backup job status. The rule is applied per Backup set. Select what kind of status you are interested of to create tickets for, by marking the checbox to the left for each status, under Auto create tickets. Then in the Threshold field you add the number of which you want a ticket to be created on. A threshold value of "1" means Zimonitor will create a ticket on the first occurrance.. Mark Only single if only want one ticket of each status per Backup set to be created. This option is recommended since you might end up having a lot of tickets to close afterwards, but it's off course depending on how you chose to work with tickets. If you want Zimonitor to close the open tickets when the a later Backup job turns up with a successful status, then mark the Auto reset checkbox. SINGLE PER BACKUP SET This is an extention of the Only single option. If this option is selected, only one ticket will be created per Backup set, no matter of which status the Backup jobs has. The rule will be applied on both Standard and Day rule, as long as Only single is selected in current rule. DAY RULE The Day rule can be used when you want to create tickets based on the number of days without successful Backup jobs. Even this rule is applied per Backup set. If this rule is active a ticket will be generated if no successful Backup job has been detected for the last specified number of days. However, the rule must be triggered by a Backup job, so if no job at all is detected for the Backup set, this rule will not be triggered and thereby no ticket will be created. This rule will overide any of the Standard settings. For the Day rule you can also apply Only single and Auto reset, with the same behaviour as decribed above. TICKET EXCEPTIONS You might not want to create tickets for all Backup jobs failing in the same way for all your clients. You can make exceptions to either a Group, a Client or a Backup set. For a Group or Client you just mark the Ticket Exception checkbox on the Edit view of the Group or Client. On the backup set level you can even specify to what status should be excluded. You find the this option in the Settings > Ticket Exception view. Here you can filter the search by Client or just search on the Backup set name, select the all statuses or just some specific statuses that you want to exclude, and press Add rule to save it. The rule will end up in the list to the right. In the same view you can see all your Backup set exceptions and either edit them or delete them. You will get a warning in the list if the Backup set belonging to either a Group or Client that already has Ticket Exception activated. You can do some settings for your instance of Zimonitor from the Settings link in the header, that we describe shortly here. SETTINGS On this tab you can control the Badges displaying the number of items per menu, shown in the header. Further you can set the numer of Backup sets to display on each page. Control the speed and delay of the aout scroll function for the Overview. The Client prio filter option for the Overview is controlled here, such as if the Startup guide should be available or not. Prevent suspended Backup users to show up in the Overview. REPORTING Here you can set your accepted limit to the reporting charts. BRANDING Here you can upload your own logo and you can change style if you know your way around using CSS. TICKETS Here you also find the settings for tickets. For more information, check out the Tickets tab next to this. x
