MORE ABOUT AUTHOR

Born and raised in Cherokee County, Alabama; Jessie is the third oldest of eight
brothers and sisters. Both parents are deceased. She has been in San Diego for
47 years after joining the United States Navy while living in Atlanta Georgia
and fulfilling her childhood dream of serving her country as a “Sailor Girl” all
dressed in blue. Honorably discharged after fulfilling her contract with the
Navy, Jessie met and married the late Rev. John L. Clark and had been a widow
for 25 years before meeting and marrying Pastor Walter N. Leverette on September
28, 2019.

She has two adult children, Kimberly who graduated as an “A” student from the
Bay Vista Beauty College in San Diego, and Jonathan, Sr. who attended Massive
Transit System driving classes in Chula Vista, Ca. in order to proficiently
perform his third job. Jessie is also the proud grandmother of five
grandchildren, KyMani’ and Jonathan, Jr. affectionally called JJ. Marrying
Walter added two daughters, Monica Leverette Morel and Ursula Leverette along
with three more grandchildren, Jullian, Carlyle Jr., and Vincent Morel.
