COVID-19 labor costs puts hospitals and health systems to the test
In response to a labor crunch that’s been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic,
hospitals and health systems have substantially increased their use of contract
nurses. That spike in demand inevitably has led to big raises for nurses who can
