SAVE BILLILLA PARK

ATTENTION! THIS AFFECTS YOU!



Billilla, our quiet and tranquil park, is under a proposal to be transformed
into a commercial enterprise. This change could disrupt its peaceful ambiance
with a projected influx of 65,000 visitors and users per year, every year.




HISTORY

In the council meeting held on 28th June 2022, it was resolved that Billilla
would serve as a hub for:

 * Creativity, culture, and arts
 * Hospitality and events
 * Learning opportunities
 * Social enterprises and volunteer activities

The draft Strategic Business Plan outlines a proposed direction and presents a
roadmap to meet these objectives.




CURRENT RUNNING COSTS OF BILLILLA


 * 5 permitted external events: $500
 * Jazz, Garden party, etc.: $45,000 annually
 * Maintenance (gardens, etc.): $86,000
 * Building maintenance and cleaning costs: $16,000
 * Total: $147,500

The Billilla Advisory Committee recommends the council adopts the updated draft
Strategic Business Plan, including operational implications subject to Council
Budget considerations and planning processes.
