MEET OUR FOUNDER




LARISSA MARTINS – KRAMER, ESQ.




My name is Larissa Martins-Kramer. I am an attorney dedicated to guiding
immigrants through the complexities of the United States legal system. I
practice family and criminal law in the state of New Jersey, and immigration law
in all 50 states and United States territories. I advocate for clients in
immigration proceedings virtually throughout all of the United States. I am also
available to meet with clients in person in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

My team and I speak Portuguese and Spanish. I am a first-generation United
States citizen. Although born in the United States, I spent most of early
childhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I travel frequently to Latin-America to
visit my extended family.

My passion for advocacy started early in childhood. This passion intensified
when I studied International Relations and Latin-American studies at The
University of Texas at Austin. After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree from UT
Austin, I immigrated to the United Kingdom to study history and international
affairs at University College London.

After being admitted to the Juris Doctor program at Rutgers University Law
School in Newark, NJ, I decided to focus my studies in Immigration and
Nationality Law, devoting my final year of study to the Immigrant Rights Clinic.
During my clinical year, I assisted in submitting appeals to the Board of
Immigration Appeals and participated in the Detained Immigrant Defense Project
funded by the State of New Jersey. I counseled countless detained individuals
and assisted many in applying for refugee status.

As an attorney, I have assisted many immigrants in securing: grants of asylum,
withholding of removal, protection under the Convention Against Torture (CAT),
and release from I.C.E. detention, legal permanent residency, and
naturalization.

I have acquired pardons for many clients that have entered through the border in
search for a dignified life, when other attorneys have turned them away. I have
reopened cases due to violations of due process and overturned prior deportation
and removal orders.

I also represent companies that wish to hire qualified immigrants and sponsor
employment-based visas.

I am honored to take on complex cases that require intense litigation. Advocacy
is more than a profession for me, it is my life’s purpose and how I honor my own
immigrant roots.

I am admitted to practice law in the state of New Jersey and am a member of the
American Immigration Lawyers Association and the New Jersey State Bar
Association.
