Article Title:
LIPID-LOWERING EFFECT OF COROLIUS VERSICOLOR EXTRACT IN STATIN INTOLERANT
PATIENT WITH HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA
Abstract:
Woman with primary hypercholesterolemia and statin intolerance due to myopathy
and headache was treated with 30mg/kg/day of Corolius Versicolor (CV) mushroom
extract. After 30 days of therapy reduction in all lipid profile parameters
exceeded 11%. Atherogenic index of plasma AIP decreased from 0.55 to 0.48. No
adverse reaction of therapy was observed. Results confirmed the potential of
natural products including CV extract consumption to reduce hypercholesterolemia
in patients intolerant to statins.
