JULY 15, 2022 SUMMER CAMP LAKE OF THE OZARKS Posted on Jul 18 2022 - 8:57am Duck | Troop | Yellow Slash | Committee | Cyan Salamanders | Old Goats Message: Today was merit badge make up day and fun extracurricular events that the Scouts could do! Our last meal we had to cook as a patrol was lunch and camp provided dinner for us! There were many completed merit badges overall and of course some partials. This evening was the closing campfire and he headed back to camp. For the most part the Scouts were beat so it was easy getting them in bed. Tomorrow we pack up and head home hoping to arrive between 1 pm and 2 pm. The plan is to meet back at Salem UMC so we can get all the gear split back up to take home. Please remind your Scouts to check for ticks really well when they get home and after they shower. See you tomorrow!!! read more JULY 14, 2022 SUMMER CAMP LAKE OF THE OZARKS Posted on Jul 15 2022 - 9:21am Duck | Troop | Yellow Slash | Committee | Cyan Salamanders | Old Goats Message: Today, the Scouts wrapped up their second round of merit badge classes! It was hot, but we persevered...Amelia caught and kissed a fish today with her great fishing rod! We welcomed Ciarian's family to camp and he gave them a tour of Camp Hohn. In the evening the camp had their Order of the Arrow Callout Ceremony, which our very own Brooke and Joseph were called out to be part of the honor society of Scouting! It was neat to see another Order of the Arrow council Callout Ceremony! Tomorrow our scouts will work on a merit badge, finish up any merit badges they've got partials on, or help with a Conservation service project. The last meal we will be making as a patrol will be lunch tomorrow, which the Scouts have been really picking up the patrol method with cooking! More updates tomorrow! We really have met the medic at camp mostly with bug bites and scratches...so far, Paisley has come out on top of the girls troop for being unscathed and we've challenged her to stay that way the whole week! Patrol cooking is a work in progress, but getting better! The troop welcomed Scoutmaster Dan and Mrs. Dahlgren to camp and wants to wish Mrs. Menefee a very happy birthday!!! Scoutmaster Dahlgren...All good today especially with the cooler weather. We had a free evening, which the Scouts liked and had a campfire too! Thanks to Gwen and Mike for helping out in merit badge classes and we welcomed Linda to camp this evening. Loved seeing a bunch of our Scouts getting out of their comfort zones and trying something new. Congrats to Izzy for officially being an Eagle Scout today with her paperwork arriving back from National Scout Office.
