many sectors of industries helping the organizations and society to achieve the
greatest good.

WHY CHOOSE INDUSTRIAL AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AT WVU?

The Industrial and management systems engineering department offers several
career-focused degree programs - BS, MS, and PhD in industrial engineering,
fully online MS in engineering management and safety management, and fully
online PhD in occupational safety and health. The main focus in the curriculums
of these degree programs is to provide the students with the most essential
skills and tools to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of modern
workplaces.

Collectively, the program graduates develop unique skills and knowledge to
successfully address “Process Improvement” challenges which are central to the
growth of any business, allowing our graduates to find employment with a very
broad spectrum of local, regional, and global businesses, including but not
limited to healthcare, finance, manufacturing, logistics, transportation,
construction, retail, and government.

THE STUDENT PERSPECTIVE

KASIMIR LAUBER

BSIE Fall 2023

> While there are numerous positive aspects I could highlight about
> collaborating with industry partners, one particular aspect stood out to me –
> the impact of working on real-world projects with authentic data on one's
> approach.

TOMMY AZINGER

BSIE DECEMBER 2023

> The IMSE Department does a wonderful job of ensuring that the students learn
> the appropriate content and that they are actively applying what they are
> learning. I have grown a tremendous amount because of the internship
> experiences I have had over my college career!

ISABELLE NESBIT

ABM IMSE GRAD 2025

> Having a real industry project for my senior capstone course is so beneficial
> to me. It's really given me the opportunity to take the skills that I have
> been learning for the past four years in the classroom and apply them to real
> engineering problem in industry.
