HOW WE MET

2021


Although we first became friends in early 2021 during our Space Force training
class, we began dating while deployed together in Europe. Separated by a 12 hour
shift schedule, we took any and every opportunity we could to spend time
together. Our first date was picking up Twix ice cream bars from a local gas
station!


STARTED DATING

July 18th 2022


Our love grew as we traveled together during off days from work, spending hours
in the car talking, exploring foreign cities... and Julie needing to teach Matt
how to drive a manual car. On a day off from work, Matt asked Julie to be his
girlfriend while visiting the beach. She said yes immediately!


THE PROPOSAL

August 5th 2023


Matt proposed to Julie on top of Mt. Belford (one of the 58 14,000+ ft mountains
in Colorado). It was only fitting that this happened at about 6:00 AM, halfway
up mountain. Matt was nervous but knew the view would be phenomenal.
