2025 ICD-10-CM UPDATES

It’s that time of year again! Join us as we learn about the 2025 ICD-10-CM
changes to the guidelines and codes. This year there are 252 new codes, 36
deletions and 13 revisions. The chapters that will see the most new codes are
Neoplasms, Mental, Behavioral and Neurodevelopmental disorders, Digestive,
Musculoskeletal and of course Chapters 19 and 21 there are always new codes.

Preview of some of the changes:

 * Neoplasm Chapter there are many new codes for the various types of cancer in
   remission. We have never had code options for remission in several sections
 * New Diabetes codes that expanded on Type 1 DM, presymptomatic stages.
 * Hypoglycemia is expanded into Levels that will be explained
 * Obesity is expanded to class 1-3
 * Anorexia, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge eating disorders have been expanded for
   severity
 * New Anal, Rectal and Anorectal Fistula codes
 * New expanded codes for Unspecified Synovitis and Tenosynovitis to identify
   location

Lynn Handy brings more than 30 years of health care experience in medical office
management, insurance billing and coding, and professional nursing. She is an
accomplished medical practice consultant and an experienced educator in the
areas of insurance billing and coding, physician coding and documentation
training, computerized insurance billing and Medicare compliance.

Lynn is a certified coding instructor through the AAPC and was a board member
for a major project in San Diego to develop and implement a comprehensive
hospital coding program. She has also been ICD-10 trained by AHIMA. Lynn speaks
at various National Coding, Compliance and Auditing Associations as well as
supporting local coding chapter meetings as a frequent speaker.
