GLAD YOU CAME!

Welcome to this page. It is the result of an investigation about artistic
practices to achieve inner peace. It is also an active work about important
social issues to signal in silence and peaceful protest. Reflecting on these
issues, through contemplative paths, bringing peace to these wounds of humanity.

I hoppe that you enjoy and if you want to share some experience please contact
me.

ABOUT TÂNIA OP

Hi! How nice to welcome you on my page.

If you opened this page, you certainly want to know me a little more, as well as
the work I have been developing. Thank you in advance for this interest.

Talking a little about myself, I am a person who really likes to know the world
in depth, to see new realities and to question myself about all this. I have
always been very communicative, but also I alsoneed my moments of silence and
solitude. I experience things and then I need time to integrate and process them
inside of me.

I walked several paths, trying to get to know all forms of life and my own,
always questioning myself about my role in this world and the reason of my
existence. And frankly, these are questions that I continue to feel unfinished.
Our role in this world is neither static not permanent and depends on our entire
process, experience and choices.

At the artistic level, I have always enjoyed working with natural and poor
materials. Reaching places within nature and transforming seemingly lifeless
materials into new uses. Enter abandoned places and take advantage of the
still-existing resources to create. I also entered the world of Byzantine
Christian Iconography, a type of painting done in contemplation, silence and
fasting, with natural pigments, wine and egg in wood – a fascinating world. And
at this moment, in addition, I contemplate sensitive social issues that need
attention and investigate how artistic practices can collaborate in the
development of inner peace. Performance art, social and ecological sculpture,
contemplative drawing and painting are undoubtedly the practices that
characterize my work.

Tânia OP in a Contemplative Path . Palestine, 2022.

CONTEMPLATIVE PATH/PERCURSO CONTEMPLATIVO

“Contemplative Path” is a registered project, which consists in the creation of
contemplative Paths with the aim of achieving inner peace as well as
making silent and peace manifests regarding social, human and ecological
problems.

All the paths are chosen with the aim of reflecting on a certain topic which is
part of our personal development, as an invitation to confrontation, questioning
and internal growth. They are registered and shared, so that each person can
also perform them if they feel that desire or need.

Guidance and proposal of a performative act, on which each person walks their
own flow of breath, being invited to contemplate the beauty of their inner
emptiness, as a cathartic process. It is intended to provoke an experience, with
a sensitive and affective dimension in the act of walking and breathing. Body as
presence. Presence as space.
