He took his talents to Arizona to play college golf but his dream of pursing an acting career pulled him to the West Coast. After a successful decade in front of and behind the camera, Colby's love and talent of golf has remained a constant and is what lead to the creation of Quite The Chap. STUART November 19, 2019 at 9:10 am awesome drill, quite the chap! Reply 2. BOB PEGRAM November 19, 2019 at 4:44 pm I do essentially the same thing with a very heavy weighted ancient wood driver (lots of split shot down the shaft). You are right. It keeps swing rhythm consistent including where to cock and uncock the wrists, backswing length and timing, follow-through, everything. People comment on how easy and smooth I swing. I don’t swing easy, but it looks like I do. Same with Ernie Els, Louis Oostheisen (sp?), etc. They are smooth so it looks like they are swing easy. Anybody who hits the ball as far as they do isn’t swinging easy. Your exercise, whether with a weighted club or not, makes hitting the ball a long way a lot easier. The swing itself isn’t easy as far as effort, but it is so smooth the swing seems easy to do once you get used to the timing your exercise produces. I know a former 2-time long drive champion (Eric Jones) who looks the same way. He looks like he is swinging easy when he is practicing and competing in long drive competitions. He obviously isn’t swinging easy, but he is very smooth. He teaches people how to do that. Reply 3. BOB KAPP April 21, 2020 at 2:21 pm I’m a huge fan of yours. I have all your tips and drills in a folder. This is one of the best. I haven’t had a club in my hand this year since all the courses in Southwest Pennsylvania are either closed (COVID-19) or snow covered 😄. I’ll have a lot of watching to do over the next 4-6 weeks. Keep them coming, Colby. Reply * QUITE THE CHAP April 28, 2020 at 11:43 am Thanks Bob! I hope they help! Reply 4. DONALD TITCHNER December 16, 2020 at 9:18 am Some of these videos are unbelievably helpful to an older player like myself, simple to remember easy to do. Good stuff ! Reply 5. RICHARD GRANT December 16, 2020 at 9:30 am I would build upon this tip with another; keeping your body fully relaxed until you reach the point of ‘snapping the whip’ (the moment when the entire body comes together creating impact with the club and ball). Reply 6. RIDDLE BRIAN January 20, 2021 at 7:43 pm Chap, Great tip… I’m half pissed that you let the world in on the secret! Consistent rhythm consistent contact… then you get a chip and putt…fun and evil game;)) Thanks for keeping it simple! I have an old golfing buddy story on that one…I’ll share another time….
