   NOTICE:
   
   Detailed industry and aggregate sector multifactor productivity and related
   measures for 1987-2020 were released on November 18, 2021. Additionally,
   private nonfarm and private business multifactor productivity and related
   measures were revised. The BLS Productivity program will replace the term
   multifactor productivity (MFP) with total factor productivity (TFP) beginning
   with the Total Factor Productivity Trends for Major Industries release on
   November 18, 2021. This is a change in terminology only and will not affect
   the data or methodology. The use of the term total factor productivity will
   improve the visibility and accessibility of our data and will be accompanied
   by changes to the BLS website and future productivity news releases.
