Job Description and Duties:

General Accounting Duties:

 * Calculate, verify, and post financial data to maintain accounting and
   statistical records
 * Prepare daily journal entries necessary to complete financial statements and
   other reports
 * Assist with cash flow forecast maintenance
 * Bank and credit card statement reconciliation
 * Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and maintain working papers
 * Reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring elimination across entities
 * Assist with preparation of annual audit information and supporting documents
 * Handle special projects, responsibilities and other duties as assigned by
   Financial Controller
 * Perform other duties as required

Financial Reporting Duties:

 * Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and ensure
   compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures for corporate
   entities
 * Prepare and analyze working papers for corporate entities, ensuring that
   financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision
   making
 * Complete monthly and quarterly variance analysis to budget and prior periods
 * Prepare working papers and backup for external audit process
 * Responsible for commodity tax filing preparations, submissions, and
   reconciliations (GST/HST/PST)
 * Assist with CRA audits
 * Ensure that appropriate and adequate internal controls over financial
   reporting are in place and operating efficiently and effectively
