WHAT HAPPENED TO CS:GO LOUNGE?

This is a long story, but worthwhile if you want to understand the skin betting
phenomenon. CS:GO Lounge was one of the first eSports & Skin gambling websites
where you could both gamble and place bets on eSports matches. CS:GO Lounge is
estimated to have processed more than 90 million skins in January 2016 to June
2016 with an average value of around $10.

After a rather long time of operation, which they did run smoothly they where
forced to shut down.

The story starts when it was discovered that at least three players of Virtus
Pro (VP) placed bets on their own match versus LDLC in the Faceit league. The
problem was that the match had already taken place without anyone informing
CS:GO Lounge about it. This meant that some players placed bets on a sure
outcome (clearly stealing value / skins from bettors that did not have this
information).

Even if this was not illegal, it was clearly unethical and some of the VP
players took skins from their own fans (by betting against themselves, stealing
skins from bettors who had them as victors in the match, without knowing that
the match had already taken place).

Today, the site still exist at the same domain but you can only trade in-game
items at the moment. They have also have play-money betting functionality if you
want to practice your betting skills.
