   Free Friday programs take place 2 to 5 pm every Friday. Reservations are
   required. Tickets are available one week in advance. Time slots will not show

   Wow!!!! Just wow!! There was so much to see here! I thought I would be here
   for the huge library, but the exhibits were so touching. I do recommend to go
   Friday's 5-7 for free! But I paid for a student pass and it was so worth!!!
   This was the only museum I visited in my short trip, but it was the only one
   I've desired to attend for years!!! A must see in NYC. I hear there is a best
   seller book that has increased the publicity of the location, still wasn't an
   overwhelming amount of visitors!!

   Went on a Friday evening from 5-7 when admission is free.
   
   Such a a beautiful library! Feels like a dream. An amazing collection and
   beautiful building. Definitely worth visiting for free if you can! Would love

   Warning: Don't trust the 5pm closing time if you're planning to take a quick
   peek during one of their free times.
   
   Was looking forward to checking out this museum during a short NY trip.
   Rushed over on the day I landed in NY (Tuesday) since I saw that Tuesdays are
   free from 3-5pm without reservations needed. Finally made it to the museum
   entrance around 4:35pm knowing I would only be able to get a brief look at
   things given the time. Wasn't expecting to not even be let in. Doors were
   locked and security guard just kept saying no.
   
   Given other reviews about how small this museum is, I think I could have
   gotten the quick peek I was already expecting, maybe even more, within those
   25 min. Quite upset that I wasn't even given the chance given their website
   clearly list they close at 5:00pm with no fine print that last entries are at
   whatever time. Otherwise I wouldn't have rushed over and just stayed in the
   hotel to recover from the flight...
   
   This was the cherry on top for a day where nothing has gone smoothly.

   If you grew up going to the library after school & sneak-reading books under
   the covers with a flashlight, way past your bedtime, chances are, The Morgan
   is your jam.
   
   The architecture is just as impressive as the literary collection & exhibits
   housed within. Most magnificent, perhaps, are The Rotunda's painted ceilings
   & The East Room's three levels of bookshelves. And marble detailing covers
   much of the rooms.
   
   On my visit, I geeked out hard at the Little Prince exhibit which displayed
   author Saint-Exupéry's drawings. Also, I couldn't get over the fact that I
   was seeing the Emancipation Proclamation & one of the three copies of the
   Gutenberg Bible that the Morgan owns, with my own eyes. I wouldn't go as far
   as saying The Morgan is one of my happy places, but it's up there with my
   faves.
   
   Tickets: $22
   Free admission on Fridays, 5-7pm, reserve tickets online.

   This museum is also in Manhattan and is well over 100 years old. It was
   created in the early 1900s by Banker JP Morgan because he ran out of space in
   his home for his books. We should all have that problem! It puts in
   perspective how short a time we have together on earth. I saw manuscripts
   here from the Morgan Bible among other famous items. There is also quite a
   bit of art work and take a close look at the outside of the main building
   that looks like it's made of Marble. The architecture is pretty amazing.

   This library and or museum is located on Madison Avenue and is an over 100
   year old library. There are writings and poems and manuscripts but the
   architecture of the building is what I find amazing, more so than the famous
   museum level contents within it.

   The Morgan Library & Museum is one of my favorite museums in NYC. There is a
   small but rich variety offered. If books interest you the library gallery is
   amazing and a must see. Personally I would love to own even a fraction of the
   books there. There is live music with a larger area to sit and enjoy drinks.
   If you want to check it out for free Fridays from 5pm-7pm they offer free
   tickets, you just need to reserve them on their website.

   Okay, it's a beautiful space with some beautiful stuff...but! There's not a
   lot of "biblio" to "phile" for bibliophiles. Sure, there are thousands of
   books in sealed bookcases, or inaccessible bookcases on the second & third
   levels of the library. If you are a book SPINE-ophile, then you'll be in your
   element.
   
   The Morgan owns THREE of the world's 48 extant copies of Gutenberg
   bibles...but not one was displayed while I was there, though the internet
   said they had "one on display at all times."  
   
   No one at the front desk knew where other famous manuscripts were located.
   None of the guards knew where anything was. ("The Guten-WHAT!?")
   
   Only a few books are on rotating display...also under glass.
   It's like going to an art museum where all the art is in labeled boxes, and
   you just have the boxes to look at.
   
   I know the library can't have the public pawing through rare incunabula, but
   maybe tours? With a museum employee who can open and show books?  The
   ticket-holding hoi polloi can't actually SEE 99% of the books, or what's in
   them, which is a doggone shame.

   The Morgan was home to J. P. Morgan, financial mogul.  At a young age, Morgan
   had a love for collecting rare books.  
   The library and museum were quite astonishing.  His main library collection
   had original first editions of The Bible.  In other rooms were smaller
   collections of first editions.  
   In addition he collected rare antiquities.

   A surprising find. About an hour will give you a good view of the library and
   exhibits. We spent most of our time in the original sections of the building.
   Stunning architecture and decorative arts plus manuscripts. Really cool place
