How do I send money with the Western Union® money transfer app?

Just follow these easy steps to send money with our app:

 1. If you already have the Western Union® money transfer app, log in with Touch
    ID or your credentials. If you don’t have our app yet, simply download it on
    the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. New users can follow the steps to
    register a profile with your email address. You can verify your profile
    using your driver’s license, passport or government-issued ID.
 2. Start to transfer money with the app by entering the destination country and
    the amount you want to send.
 3. Choose the payout method that works for you – direct to a bank account, for
    cash pickup or to a mobile wallet3, based on your receiver’s country. Enter
    your receiver’s details.
 4. Pay for your money transfer via credit2/debit card or with your bank
    account.
 5. We’ll provide a tracking number (MTCN). Share this with your receiver to
    track the funds. If sending to a mobile wallet3, you and your receiver will
    get a confirmation alert via text notification when the money is delivered.

What information do I need to provide to send money using the Western Union®
money transfer app?

New customers can register on our mobile money transfer app in just a few
minutes. You’ll need to verify your email address for security purposes, and
provide at least one of the following types of US government-issued
identification:

 * Driver’s license
 * Passport
 * Photo ID

You’ll also require key details about your receiver to make a money transfer.
These can include their name and address, and bank account information.

Can I pay in cash even if I use the Western Union®app to send money?

Yes, you can save time at the counter by starting your domestic or international
money transfer on our app or online and paying in cash at a participating  agent
location. When you begin a money transfer on the app, you’ll be given the option
to pay in cash at an agent location.

Are money transfer apps safe?

We’re committed to keeping the data you provide through our money transfer app
secure. We use a variety of techniques to help protect the confidentiality of
your personal information, including SSL technology.

Yes, you can send money to friends and family overseas or at home via our app.
Making an international money transfer through the app is as easy as selecting
