ACTIVATE VIRGIN SIM AUSTRALIA - FREE SOFTWARE AND SHAREWARE

Materials Needed In order to activate a Virgin Mobile, a user must have the
phone number of the phone and the phone's MSID, which is accessible via Virgin
Mobile's website. Activating the Phone 1. Turn on the Phone The first step to
activating a new Mobile phone is to turn the phone on. First, ensure the phone
is properly charged by plugging it into its wall charger. Then, to turn the
phone on, users should simply press and hold the power button on the phone's
top. Enter Program Mode Once the phone has been turned on, users should access
Program Mode to begin the activation process.

In order to reach Program Mode on a Virgin Mobile Phone, users must simply dial
##87466# on the phone they are trying to activate, which spells out ##VIRGIN#.
This allows the user to access the screen in which they will put necessary
activation information. Enter the Phone Number Next, users will see a menu.

Activate your US Mobile SIM Card and choose a cell phone plan with the talk,
text and data you need. To Swap your SIM. Log into My Account. Go to 'Activate
Your Replacement SIM'. Follow the steps. Let's get started. Check Coverage Pay

To continue the activation process, they should tap 'Edit' on that menu. Hitting
edit will take users to a screen where they will be prompted to enter their
telephone number into a field (sometimes referred to as the MDN). Users should
enter their phone number on this screen, including seven digits plus the three
digit area code. Enter the MSID The next screen that will appear after someone
has entered their phone number on a Virgin will prompt a user to enter their
MSID. In the field for MSID, a user should first erase any number that already
exists in the field. Then, they should type in the MSID number assigned to them
by Virgin.

Finish Activation After the MSID has been entered, the phone is ready to be
used. The phone will automatically take a user back to the Service Program mode,
which will give users an option to choose 'Done.' Once a user taps 'Done,' the
phone will be completely activated. However, before anyone can use the phone to
make calls, the phone must be restarted.

Allow the phone to restart after the activation process automatically. Once the
phone has completely booted up and is on the home screen, it is completely
activated and ready to be used.

Buying a Virgin Mobile Phone on eBay There are many listings available on eBay
for mobile and, and shoppers who are in the market for a new or can use the
site's search field to type in 'Virgin Mobile Phone.' Buyers can then browse
through results and see if there are any available cell phones that are right
for them. To narrow down results and make the browsing process even easier, use
eBay's filter functions to narrow results by things like price, condition,
location, purchase type, and more. Once a buyer has found the phone they want,
they can bid on the phone if it is being sold by auction, or use eBay's 'Buy It
Now' feature to purchase it outright. EBay also sells a slew of accessories for
Virgin Mobile phones, like, headsets,, and more.

Does anyone know if you can activate an Optus SIM while outside of Australia? By
activate I mean have the phone up and running with a number, but also
operational with roaming. I want to send a SIM to a friend in New Zealand who is
going to visit, but want them to be able to set up, get into the online portal
and add credit etc before they leave. I assume Optus send an SMS with a one time
code to activate online portal, so the SIM would need to have roaming active
immediately upon activation, or they wont be able to connect to an overseas
network to receive the SMS code, yes?

Feb 19, 2014. Now that you have your new SIM, just log in to My Account to swap
your mobile number to your new SIM. Swap your SIM You will need to back up your
old SIM card's contacts/details first, as the old SIM will stop working once you
have activated your replacement SIM. Ensure you have your SIM number.

I'm happy to do it for them, but didn't want to deprive them of the joy and
opportunity to set it up themselves. Previously I had sent a friend a Vodafone
SIM before they came over. They were able to activate online and get a number
etc, but it would not roam. I rang Vodafone for them who said that the phone
doesn't fully activate on the network until it connects for the first time, so
services like roaming get provisioned once the phone connects to the network for
the first time, which it couldn't do outside of Australia. In that case they
were able to manually complete the activation which then allowed roaming and
receiving the SMS needed to register online. Just wasn't sure if Optus worked
the same way.

Hey need some help, I found a iPhone 5 in the street, I picked it up and I
slides the slider over, it didn't require a passcode lock, I kinda looked in it
but I just powered it off and left it in my car, it was on valentines day I was
at my girlfriend's house just stepped out for a sec to get something from my
car, than there it was on the ground, I didn't want to tell my girlfriend, shed
be all wanting me to return it! I'm like f*** that, it's an iPhone 5 all I got
right now is the iPhone 3G, not my fault the owners irresponsible! I turned it
on today and it now requires a passcode and says ' this phone has been lost,
please call blah blah So can I get it jailbroken it's with AT&T,? And if I get
it jailbroken can I activate it under a small carrier like h2o? That's the
carrier I have now. Is there a way to bypass the password lock? Anybody know any
tricks?

Will it work with h2o? The handset is blocked and it's now a brick as far as
you're concerned. As you're clearly dishonest and willing to steal I'll appeal
to your selfish instincts instead:- 1.

The phone may very well have a tracker installed; it may also have already sent
photos of you and the rock you crawl under every night to the owner to pass on
to police. Whatever you think the phone may be worth, how much would you be
willing to pay later on if you could buy yourself out of all the trouble you may
be about to bring down upon yourself. Other than the legal consequences you
might also lose your girlfriend and job.

The owner might possibly have insurance which offers a reward to finders.
Unlikely as it might seem right now, you may actually find a sense of
satisfaction and pride in resisting your antisocial instincts and restoring the
phone to the rightful owner. Your girlfriend might also see something better in
you than she did before. But this could be a turning point for you to start to
become a far better person. • I bought a stolen iPhone 4S, it's Verizon but I've
heard around there's a way to use it with other companies. If so can someone
explain. • I purchased a iphone off somebody in the street for only 85 bucks.

One of the phone on my account was lost/stolen. I have another verizon phone
that was given to me, am i able to activate that phone and then file a claim.
Jun 28, 2010. My daughter was on her father's plan on Verizon and just got the
Samsung Rogue last week. He got mad at her and cut her phone off. I called to
have her phone activated on my account, but they said since it was reported lost
or stolen by HIM, they can do nothing with the phone. Now, how can he legally.
I've seen my fair share of heartbreaks when it comes to used phones. As a repair
tech, I often had to try and help out customers who bought used handsets which
turned out to be useless, either because it was stolen or not working on their
carrier's network. More often than not.more.

(I'm not shure if it is the 4s or just the 4). When I purchased it I already
knew it had a bad ESN but still bought it because if I couldn't find a way to
turn it on I was just gonna use it as a ipod and camera.

All I want to know is if their is anyway that I can activeate the phone? • I
have an iphone 5s and I have insurance that covers lost, stolen or damaged. So I
was wondering is if I lose my phone I get a new one. But can someone use my old
one? When I set up the phone the first time.

Tmobile needed the IMEI number and a different number. I think the serial. I
just wanted to know if they block lost or stolen phones. Cause to be honest I
wanted to give one to my sister and I know previously you could do this and save
a lot of money.

How to Activate iPhone IMEI Blacklisted and Blocked Many mobile phone repair
stores offer phone buyback programs to their customers and end up buying back a
phone that they’re unable to activate due to a bad IMEI phone number that’s been
blacklisted by the carrier. __________________________ UPDATED 2017: Where to
have your IMEI/ESN cleared off blacklist by carrier. Read article below for
alternative methods that might also work out for you. Bad IMEI/ESN Cleaning
Services • ( True IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning) • ( Swap Bad IMEI/ESN Phone for
Clean One + Remote Cleaning Options) • ( True IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning) • ( True
IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning) __________________________. This can often happen when
the initial check at the time of the buyback resulted in a clean IMEI number.
This can be very frustrating knowing that the value of a blacklisted IMEI phone
is often significantly lower than non-blocked IMEI phones. Fortunately, you
still have some options and, in most cases, you might not end up losing any
money.

Of course, the best precaution to buying back a blacklisted IMEI phone is to
check before you buy it. There are plenty of IMEI and ESN check websites on the
internet that are free and instant. You must be careful as some of them work
better for certain carriers and while they’re pretty reliable, they can never be
100% correct. • Identify Hybrid CDMA/GSM Phones. If the phone is unable to
activate on a CDMA carrier such as Sprint or Verizon, the blacklisted IMEI could
still have the ability to be used on a GSM network.

Many of the phones manufactured lately come with a GSM standard, micro or nano
SIM card slot and have GSM radios allowing for use on a GSM network. Likewise,
many of them come factory unlocked, even if one of the major providers sold the
phone.

Such an example is the iPhone 5 from Verizon. If you happen to have a bad ESN
iPhone 5, you really don’t have a problem – it comes factory unlocked! You won’t
be able to use it on Verizon again, but you should have no trouble using it on
another GSM pre-paid carrier in the USA or Internationally. In fact, a phone
sold as unlocked has a 15-20% better value than if you sold it on Verizon. One
of the first models of this type was the Blackberry Storm several years ago. I
remember customers wanting cash would offer extremely an low price knowing it
had a blocked ESN number with Verizon – but not knowing that the phone came
factory unlocked and was good for AT&T or T-Mobile. All that was needed was a
setting change to deactivate the CDMA radio and activate its use on a GSM
network.

Lastly, make sure that the bad IMEI phone that has a GSM SIM card slot actually
has a radio and the correct cellular bands to allow service. Some phones, such
as the original Nexus, had a micro SIM card slot, but the radio connected to it
was only connected to the 4G network, not the GSM quad band network. Paid
ESN/IMEI Cleaning Services There are companies who have back door access to
clear your IMEI/ESN issues, for a price. You have two options. Pay a flat fee to
one of these providers or you can pay to have your device swapped for a clean
IMEI/ESN unit. Not every time will these be successful but in the event that
their not the seller will refund you in full and only takes a few hours or days
at worst. Bad IMEI/ESN Cleaning Services • ( True IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning) • (
Swap Bad IMEI/ESN Phone for Clean One + Remote Cleaning Options) • ( True
IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning) • ( True IMEI/ESN Remote Cleaning).

• Just because a phone is blacklisted, on a lost or stolen list, or has a
blocked IMEI, this doesn’t mean that the phone was stolen or that it’s illegal
to buy it back from someone. • It is a crime to knowingly buy back stolen
product. Ask your customer how they got the phone in a polite way if you find it
on a blocked IMEI list before buying it back. • Never buy back a known bad IMEI
phone.

• Make sure to ask your unlock supplier if their service covers blocked IMEI
devices. If so, make sure it’s covered for various originating carriers and if
any additional charges or unlock commitment times are different. I seem to be
facing a major challenge, i have no idea whether you can be able to help me with
my issue! I bought a phone from a guy on the street simply because it’s the
cheapest place for me to buy it but not taking into an account the phone i had
just purchase is blacklisted and the network has been blocked. The are [0] trial
to unlock the network meaning i can’t even unlock it using the codes. When i try
looking the guy who sold me that phone, he is no where to be found, and i am
there sitting with a phone which doesn’t work and i have paid money for that
phone, throwing it away is no longer an option. Will you be able to help me
solve the problem, i really have no idea on what to do because i really want to
use that phone, despite the fact the it’s been blacklisted.

My phone model is Sony Xperia C2305 i am from South Africa •. Wow.I can not
believe that everyone thinks that blacklisted or lost or stolen phones cant be
activated! I do it for people all of the time that were in the same
position.buying a phone that they didn’t know was blacklisted for one reason or
another.

The only thing you have to worry about when buying an I phone is an Icloud apple
lock on the phone. No way to beat that. But if it is not icloud locked you are
good. Buy the way.the phone does not have to be unlocked by the carrier. It
doesn’t matter at all if you do it the way I tell you to. You can not used a
T-mobile phone on straight talk with the AT&T straight talk sim.

You could use the straight talk T-mobile sim. But in my area the T-mobile towers
suck.

Plus if you unlock a T-mobile phone and use it with ether Cricket wireless or
straight talk on AT&T the data comes unlocked that you can share it to other
devices like your laptop or other wifi devices. The price for Cricket wireless
is cheaper then Straight talk.

You can get 5 lines of unlimited service with the data for 100 a month. So that
works out to 20 dollars a line. I know I’m posting this on an incorrect place
but it will not let me start a discussion and I’ve never done this. Here’s my
issue: someone left an att phone at a friends house and they’ve never been able
to track down the owner.

They gave it to me since I’m having major trouble with my phone. It has a clear
imei (I checked) and I have a new active SIM card I JUST put back in am old
phone but it is giving me trouble too Calls voicemail, on messenger etc but
won’t connect direct calls.

Can’t even get thru to 611! So I want to use this saying they have me but it’s
telling me I have to enter the acct info for a google acct the phone was
previously synced to and that’s impossible since the owner cannot be found. What
can I do, please??? I am missing calls left and right (this is my business phone
#too) and can’t use the phone! Please help!! But you can use blocked (bad
financed) phones on other networks within the usa, but not blacklisted(lost or
stollen). Like you can use a t-mobile or metro pcs phone on att or cricket
wireless, att prepaid, (straight talks att sim) and other GSM networks within
the usa after being unlocked if they are blocked or have a bad finance on the
original carriers network.

T-mobile is making it harder to do that these days as now they have an unlock
app on the android phones. You can still find companies that will unlock them
but it cost more to unlock them and you just run the app and it will let you
unlock them.

You can also use At&t blocked network phones on T-moblie, (straight talk
t-mobile sim) and metro pcs as long as they are just blocked and not
blacklisted. I have been using blocked (bad financed) T-mobile phones for years
on AT&T’s network without issue. I just can’t use them on T-mobile. It may work
for a short time, but cell phone companies share their black listed list and
will block a lost or stolen phone on all networks, some times it can take a year
but in time they will get blocked.

And again it depends on why it’s showing up as black listed. Some web sites will
show blacklisted when in fact they are not blacklisted but are bad financed, If
it’s just a bad financed then just need to pay for an unlock code (unless it’s
Verizon as most come factory unlocked) and use them on another network. I know
what I am talking about and guess what my name is.

Jason Miller. Not spelled the same as your first name, but still kind of funny.

Hello, I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet through a reputable
seller on ebay. It’s a GSM tablet from t-mobile.

I put in my t-mobile sim card. The device worked on mobile data for a day, then
stopped working.

I spoke with a rep from t-mobile – she advised that the IMEI was block because
the original owner has an outstanding balance on the device. They would not tell
me what the balance was, nor would they even allow me to pay off the balance. I
contacted the ebay seller, but haven’t heard back yet. I really like the device,
but it’s useless to me without being able to use it on the t-mobile network. Is
there any way to unblock the IMEI #? Bought from who?

The drug dealer down at the park. These things don’t just happen. Quit buying
stolen property. It comes with bad karma attached to it. Do you know what people
have to go through to replace a stolen phone? It’s expensive and a hassle and
they are out a phone and they have lives. And you go buy from a loser piece of
sh_t drug dealer who next week will steal your mothers phone and eventually the
one they sold you and these guys never live well they always broke and their
dope number one in their life.

You get no watranty on these phones,, you can’t insure them. By buying the
stolen property you keep the cycle going.

Have you looked up the charges for receiving stolen property? There’s sting
operations too where losers who buy stolen property go to jail. Cuz you know you
ain’t buying it legit. You’re well aware it’s stolen. Integrity people!!!!!!!
Don’t know what that is?

Oh yeah that’s why you’re on here. Great, so the a hole who stole my new phone
at Christmas time and caused me a lot of hardship replacing that phone can make
that phone work and use it?

I mean if a phones reported stolen and blocked it should never be able to be
used. I wish the phone would blow up in their hands. I really hate criminals so
much. I pay full retail while they just steal it and none of the blocks to use
it again work really for me and I lose while they gain always.

Does anyone ever go to jail for stealing and selling to unsuspecting buyers
another persons property? Here’s my question I own two galaxy’s, s6 and note 3.
Also a iphone c5. They are all locked because of an ongoing dispute with t
mobile. Totally lied about the monthly bill, didn’t pay my Sprint bill as
promised it went on my credit and wouldn’t talk to me at all about the issues.

Two months later our phone numbers were given away. I was devastated I had my
number for 14 years. I traded in a a iphone 5c and a galaxy s5 that were just a
few months old that I paid cash for.

Now I have these phones I cant use. Is it possible to unlock these and use them
with sprint, cricket or At &t? Can I unlock them with unlockscope and a new sim
card? Check IMEI on t-mobile’s web site. Do a google search for T-mobile IMEI.
If they come up as blocked or bad financed you can unlock them to use with
cricket wireless or at&t.

You can find companies on ebay selling unlock services for the phone. T-mobile
has an unlock app and it cost more to unlock the newer phones. You should be
able to do a search by the model of your phone on ebay and unlock service and
see them come up. You can also find other web pages as well. I have a LG V10 and
it took like 2 days for them to get my unlock ready to use the unlock app on a
blocked t-mobile phone. Been using it with cricket.

They offer 5 lines for 100 a month including all the taxes and fees. Yes it is
unlocked but that doesn’t mean it’s not on the lost/stolen ESN list.

This will bar it from being used on most domestic carriers including prepaid
ones. StraightTalk is basically AT&T just rebranded and the carriers are sharing
the information across carriers now for the lost or stolen list. That doesn’t
mean it can’t be used or sold in a way to get the most value out if it. You have
2 options: 1) Pay to remove the bad ESN status. You can try eBay or some other
unlock providers but will probably cost $50-$100. 2) Sell the phone on eBay but
specifically state that the ESN is bad.

Make sure to select that you will let eBay fulfill the order to international
countries. In other countries, the carriers won’t sync with the domestic ones so
even if it has a bad ESN it will be able to be used on the international carrier
with no issues (As long as it’s not Rogers in Canada) •. Who do you call and get
it working again?

My Aunt bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 off of someone and I work for TCC Verizon. I
told her I was 100% sure the phone was stolen.

She can’t get ahold of the person who sold her this and she is older and didn’t
know to check the IMEI number and see if it was stolen and now she is out of
$250. How can she use this on straighttalk service and get it out the lost and
stolen? I’m a little confused lol.

It’s a Verizon phone but she bought it with the help intention on using it on
straighttalk. Any help will help! Who would she contact to pay to get it
unlocked or whatever and how much does that normally cost? I recently just
bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from local classified KIJIJI and it
was working great.

However, a month later the carrier added the phone to the blacklist saying that
the original owner are behind on her payments. I called the carrier and they
said unless the original owner are up to date with her payments they will not
remove it from the blacklist.

Unfortunately I don’t have the number of the person that I bought the phone from
so I can’t reach her. The annoying thing was I did my checks at the time I
bought it to make sure the IMEI numbers is not listed on the black list, also
did some test on the phone to make sure it’s real. Who knew that a month later
the girl don’t pay her bills can affect me.

Apparently the carrier REP told me that lots of people apparently also sell
their phone then report it as stolen afterward as well. I find that is BS
because what the original owner do shouldn’t have any impact on me as a third
party consumer. The carrier should go after that person through other means like
collections to get it back not add the phone to blacklist. I might have to sell
this device overseas like you suggested (I’m in Canada).

Is there a list of countries that this phone would still work in? Some people on
another forum that I read said that it may have been international blacklist
now, not national like it used to be.

I bought phone off eBay store 8 months ago. Worked perfectly till yesterday when
it was blocked by my T-Mobile carrier.

Why and how does it take 8 months to get reported as lost/stolen or nonpayment
per original contract. Who waits 8 months to report it stolen and in a day and
age that everything is electronically managed how do multiple companies with an
agreement as Verizon sprint and T-Mobile do, not see instantly that this is
contracted to another person on another network that is not free to sell it.
They cant tell me why after 8 months exactly the reason, stolen or nonpayment,
because its not my account. After 8 months I feel like its more a scam by major
cell phone carriers than by the eBay seller with 4000 transaction history. Did
they tell you what carrier it had?

Take it to that carrier and talk with them. Explain to them what happened, that
you bought it from craigslist.

More than likely, you’re screwed but you might get someone that knows how to
work the system (highly unlikely). As the OP said, try another carrier on a
different network. Most pay by month services take bad imei’s. I had an LG G4
phone from Sprint that I took to another network and it had a bad imei.

I didn’t finish paying it off because Sprint service is total crap and they
wouldn’t help me. My kid uses it now and is very happy.

Hello admin, pls. Answer me this I bought a brand new t mobile note 3 in dec.,
2014. Came with case, charger & all. The seller actually imported some units to
sell in my country.

I later noticed the phone was rooted, but apart from that has been working
superbly over past 18 months. The problem now is that 18 months later, i want to
upgrade to lollipop but i discover that the imei on dialling *#06# is not
thesame as the one behind the battery. I check the imei on t mobile site and it
says its blocked. Now im afraid to upgrade bcos i dont know if lollipop ugrade
will reset the imei & all, and then i end up with a useless phone. Hello My name
is Eugene. I live in Moscow. 03/03/14 I bought the phone on Ebay.

As the goods delivered in Russia, I arrange delivery to my friend in USA. He
sent me a phone in Russia.

Today I received a phone, but it was blocked. I can not get it back, as has
already been a long time after purchase and the seller no longer registered on
the site. What can I do to unlock this phone?

I am ready to pay for unlocking. After a call to the operator t-mobile, I
learned that the phone is stolen and blacklisted. He boxed as new. Hi, I bought
a note 2 a month ago and just last thursday i cannot use the phone anymore. I
checked with the third party repair man and told me that the phone is reported
stolen. How can it be stolen if the phone is with the box and everything sealed
like brand new when I got it.

The same IMEI on the box. Found out that bell mobility here canada offers
insurance to customers. So that seller will get another note 2 and sell it again
I guess. The phone is in the National Blacklist of Canada. Do you think it will
stil be fixed?

Can I use it on another country like the philippines when I am going to go on a
vacation? The phone is unlocked to work on all the carriers here in canada and
abroad.

I hope to get a response. – What model iPhone is it? – If you just extended your
contract for a discounted or subsidized phone, you can try to call tmobile and
tell them you’re going overseas and would like to unlock you device. They
usually want the specific phone your trying to unlock to have fulfilled it’s 2
year contract obligation but I’ve heard of many customers where these
requirements were not meet and we’re able to get the phone unlocked. You might
have to try calling into tmobile a few times if they say no initially until you
get rep who will make an exception to their standard policy.

If you’ve been a tmobile customer for a while (at least 10 month), you’re
chances should be significantly higher. The policy is in place to prevent those
who will leave and not fulfill their contract obligation from being able to
easily sell their phone (since they still “owe” tmobile). Unfortunately, having
such a policy crosses over to those long term good value clients that pay their
bull on time and actually have a legitimate use case for unlocking the phone for
personal use and after returning, will still be a paying tmobile customer. The
above suggestion is for current tmobile clients and free if you can get them to
make an exception. – If you you bought the phone from somewhere else like ebay,
craigslist or from someone else you can try to ask someone who is a t-mobile
customer to call in for you and request the phone to be unlocked. Provided the
phone you purchased is not on a lost or stolen list and the IMEI is clean, you
could get a friend or colleague to submit for you under their account for free.

Usually the carrier (T-Mobile and AT&T) will allow 5 unlocks per account per
year, regardless if the phone trying to be unlocked was one associated with a
purchase to one of the account holders users. Lastly, if you don’t have someone
who might be able to submit and get the unlock for free, you could try searching
eBay for a seller that provides • Pingback: () •.

msconfig.exe, then go to the startup tab). The name usually contains 'Alps' or
'Synaptic'. No, it originally had the Elantech driver which came preinstalled
dated Sept 2012, so I used the 'roll-back' feature and that installed the
generic, Microsoft PS/2 driver (dated 2006), which worked. In the meantime I
downloaded an earlier version (Aug 2012) of the Elantech driver package and
another one from 2011, just out of interest, and the buttons still didn't work
in either of those.

This isn't my laptop so I don't know what updates came with it when bought, but
the Elantech package is listed in Programs and Features and has an installation
date of November 2012.

DOWNLOAD FREE 7-ZIP 9.20 ACTIVATION CODE SOFTWARE

Original title: ASAP- How to uninstall 7-Zip 9.20 from Windows 7 computer? I am
facing ' 7-zip 9.20 ' uninstalling issue. I have tried to uninstall it via the
control panel, that didn't work. So I found how to delete the program files by
other people who have run into to same issue.

I got rid of the program files, although I still have the 'hot keys' or 'hidden
registry' of it on my system. Which I am told can be removed with 'Registry
Editors' such as RegBak. I downloaded the freeware of RegBak. It did nothing for
me. It is just a freeware for backing up.

7-Zip can archive and unpack files on your 64-bit OS. 7-Zip has a high
compression ratio in new 7z format with LZMA compression. Supported formats
Packing /. Jul 24, 2013 Serial Key Numbers And Crack Pages. 7-Zip 9.20 Full
Download 7 Zip is a Open source Windows utility for manipulating archives.

So now I am sitting here with my computer going very slow, with potential
unwanted corruptions with my regular system programs. The 7-zip 9.20 is not
getting off.

The only option I have based on the info given to me is to buy 'RegBak'. Which I
am reluctant to do. Hi, I would suggest you to follow the below methods and let
us know the status of the issue. Method 1: Run the Microsoft Fix It from the
below link. Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled:
Method 2: Follow the steps in the below link.

How to troubleshoot problems when you install or uninstall programs on a
Windows-based computer: Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your
computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you
shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it
to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done.

If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software
is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks. Note: To reset the computer
to normal mode after troubleshooting, please follow “How to reset the computer
to start as usual” from the above article. Disclaimer: Important this section,
method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry.
However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly.
Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully.

For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can
restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up the registry, click the following
article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: For
reference: Uninstall or change a program: Uninstalling programs: frequently
asked questions: Hope this helps.

7-Zip File Manager version 9.20 is a program developed by Download Freely. Upon
installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program
run on each boot for the user which installed it.

A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the
program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the
version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows
Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When
installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to
provide quick access to the program. The programs's main executable is 7zFM.exe
and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and
utilizes about 3.17 MB of memory. A vast majority of those who have this
installed end up removing it just after a couple weeks.

The software installer includes 9 files and is usually about 4.07 MB (4,271,664
bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS
Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows 8. While about 90% of users of 7-Zip File
Manager come from the United States, it is also popular in Iran and Saudi
Arabia.

Or, you can uninstall 7-Zip File Manager from your computer by using the
Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel. • On the Start menu
(for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control
Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following: • Windows Vista/7/8:
Click Uninstall a Program. • Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs. • When
you find the program 7-Zip File Manager version 9.20, click it, and then do one
of the following: • Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall. • Windows XP: Click the
Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program). • Follow the prompts.

A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove 7-Zip File Manager.

DOWNLOAD ACTIVATE PIRATED WINDOWS VISTA FREE

Hi Guys, I've got an old-ish PC running Vista (I know it's shit according to
everything I've read). I only really use it for downloading stuff, torrenting,
as a server for my PS3 and all my music. I don't really use it for gaming or
work. I know Vista isn't supported anymore so just wondering what the best
option is for upgrading my operating system?

Don't fancy spending cash on a new PC and for what i use it for it just isn;t
warrented, so will it be worth downloading a later copy of windows? I was
initially thinking windows 7 and using the daz loader thing, as I'm concerned if
I try to update it to windows 10 some of the drivers will be out of date and
i'll run into problems. Is it even worth upgrading? I guess my only real concern
at the moment is security issues, but i assume more and more programs will not
be supported for it in the future.

I suggest Peppermint OS; it is extremely lightweight, Ubuntu-based (which is
something you'd want as a Linux beginner), noob-proof and has everything you
need for your requirements out of the box. It also has a friendly and very
helpful community forum. Just download the iso, use Unetbootin to make a
bootable usb flash drive, install and off you go.

If you want to stick with Shitdows there are numerous stripped-down unofficial
lite versions of Windows 7 in places like Piratebay. It's likely that you won't
have driver issues with these, Win7 can handle audio, chipset and lan drivers on
its own unless your pc has extremely obscure components and for others you can
always use generic drivers. There are even applications now that can
automatically find drivers for you (Driver Doctor. Or something? Honestly I
don't remember its name).

Seriously though, don't bother with Windows at all and go with Linux. Thanks for
all the replies everybody. I quite like the idea of a linux OS, but i've only
got a fairly basic understanding of computing and i'd be concerned that stuff
that took me a while to get working on my current setup wouldn't work (which is
one of the reasons i've never changed Vista!). For example, I have a VPN setup
(PIA), but will that work with these stripped down linux systems? (and i mean
easily, not after doing loads of research and hunting around on the net for ages
- i just don't have the time at the mo!). Similarly I use PS3 Net Serv to play
my PS3 games over my home network from my PC, would that likely be difficult to
set up on such a system?

Maybe i could experiment by first setting up a bootable USB with one of these
linux systems and see if i can get everything working on that before I start
messing about with my HD? Would that be possible? What sort of size USB would I
need, would a 64GB be sufficient? The good thing about Linux is that even when
your distro is stripped down to its bare bones the install packages can just
download the required dependencies and run just fine.

Compatibility is hardly an issue for Linux. I believe PIA supports Linux and has
a Linux client so you won't have any issues. I don't know how this ps3 server
works or even what it does, but if its essentially a file server for your ps3
and assuming there is no Linux support, probably you can emulate Windows
conditions with Wine (windows emulator) and/or Samba (windows network client for
linux). Alhough this might require some research on your part (but would work in
the end regardless). Installing on a usb stick is certainly possible.

A 2gb stick for the iso and a 16gb stick for the system would be fine, although
its highly likely that this setup would be painfully slow (I assume the pc does
not have usb 3.0 support) and it might even damage the stick due to constant
reading/writing on it. A better option would be an sd card. No it doesn't have
USB 3.0, but I've just remembered I have an old internal HDD laying around
unused somewhere.I guess I could put that back in and try setting up a linux
system on it to see how i get on.

I currently have two HDDs installed but no more sata (correct?) connections for
an extra device. Although i actually never use my DVD drive and it only works
intermittently anyway so I could unplug that and put the old HDD back in as a
3rd HDD, reformat it, then change the boot sequence so it boots that first?
Would be nice to know i could play around with the new setup but swap back to my
current one should I fail miserably!

May 1989, Symantec launched Symantec Antivirus for the (SAM). SAM 2.0, released
March 1990, incorporated technology allowing users to easily update SAM to
intercept and eliminate new viruses, including many that didn't exist at the

The technologies are marketed under the name of 'Norton', with the 'from

Computers were invaded by hundreds of foreign virus strains and corporate PC
infection was becoming a serious problem. Symantec's Norton Group launched
Norton AntiVirus 1.0 (NAV) for PC and compatible computers.

Ads for the product, with suggested retail $129, featured Norton in his
crossed-arm pose, wearing a pink shirt and surgical mask covering his nose and
mouth. With the 1998 version 5.0 update, SAM was renamed Norton AntiVirus (NAV)

addressing the estimated 3.6 million counterfeit Norton products sold.

An code is generated to identify a computer's configuration, which ties in with

The Classic edition is marketed alongside Norton AntiVirus 2009, which does
include spyware and adware detection. Existing users of the 2006, 2007, 2008,

Version 2009 (16.0) [ ]. The main user interface of Norton AntiVirus 2009 Norton
AntiVirus 2009 was released on September 8, 2008. Addressing performance issues,
over 300 changes were made, with a 'zero-impact' goal. Conducted by Passmark
Software PTY LTD highlights its 47-second install time, 32 second scan time, and
5 MB memory utilization. It should be noted Symantec funded the benchmark test
and provided some scripts used to benchmark each participating. The security
status and settings are now displayed in a single main interface.

A CPU usage monitor displays the total CPU utilization and Norton's CPU usage in
the main interface. Other features include, a whitelisting technology which cuts
scanning times by mapping known safe files using information from an online
database. To address malware response times, updates are delivered updates 5 to
15 minutes. However, such updates are not tested by Symantec, and may cause, or
incorrectly identify files as malicious. The exploit scanner found in the 2007
and 2008 versions was dropped from this release.

When installed in 32-bit versions of Windows XP Service Pack 2, 150 MB of free

32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows Vista, 150 MB of free space, an 800 MHz
processor, and 512 MB of RAM is required. Two variations on Norton AntiVirus
2009 are also marketed by Symantec. The Gaming edition provides finer control
over when Norton downloads updates and allows components of the suite to be
disabled either manually or automatically when the computer enters full-screen
mode.

The Classic edition cannot find or remove and. Version 2010 (17.0) [ ].

The main of Norton AntiVirus 2010 Version 17.0 was released on September 9,
2009. Several features have been updated in this release, including, now dubbed.
It now uses more information to determine if an application is truly malicious.
Can present users with information about the origins, activities, and
performance of applications along with reputation data.

A new feature codenamed Autospy helps users understand what Norton did when
malware was found. Previous releases removed threats on sight and quietly warned
users, potentially confusing when users are deceived in downloading. Much of
this information is placed on the back of the main window; a toggle button
switches between the sides. Symantec has also added Windows 7 support. Aside
from that, Symantec has also added the to prevent drive by drive downloads.

criminal investigations.

Ted Bridis of the. The FBI intends to deploy Magic Lantern in the form of an.
When the attachment is opened, it installs a on the suspect's computer, which is
activated when the suspect uses encryption, often used to increase the security
of sent e-mail messages. When activated, the trojan will log the PGP password,
which allows the FBI to decrypt user communications. Symantec and other major
antivirus vendors have the Magic Lantern trojan, rendering their antivirus
products, including Norton AntiVirus, incapable of detecting it. Concerns around
this whitelisting include uncertainties about Magic Lantern's full surveillance
potential and whether hackers could subvert it and redeploy it for purposes
outside of law enforcement. Graham Cluley, a technology consultant from, said
'We have no way of knowing if it was written by the FBI, and even if we did, we
wouldn’t know whether it was being used by the FBI or if it had been
commandeered by a third party'.

Another reaction came from Marc Maiffret, chief technology officer and
co-founder of eEye Digital Security who states: 'Our customers are paying us for
a service, to protect them from all forms of malicious code. It is not up to us
to do law enforcement's job for them so we do not, and will not, make any
exceptions for law enforcement malware or other tools.' Proponents of Magic
Lantern argue the technology would allow law enforcement to efficiently and
quickly decrypt time-sensitive messages protected by encryption schemes.
Implementing Magic Lantern does not require physical access to a suspect's
computer, unlike, a predecessor to Magic Lantern, since physical access to a
computer would require a court order. FBI spokesman Paul Bresson, in response to
a question about whether Magic Lantern also needed a court order to deploy,
would only say 'Like all technology projects or tools deployed by the FBI it
would be used pursuant to the appropriate legal process.'

Update disables legitimate software [ ] On January 28, 2010 Anti-virus update
marked as a disabling the software across millions of PCs. Product support [ ]
Retail customers report slow and indifferent service on bugs. Examples include a
faulty error message stating current subscriptions had expired. Users received
an error stating 'Your virus protection cannot be updated.'

This error occurred after an update to the software and refused to allow daily
updates. Though the bug was reported in 2004, it was not corrected for the 2005
or 2006 versions. Another incident occurred in May 2007, when Norton AntiVirus
flagged components of the client as malicious, rendering the program corrupted.

Symantec customer service addressed the problem by running through a checklist
of troubleshooting steps which were not always successful. Faulty update [ ] On
July 25, 2006, Symantec released a faulty update for users. Users reported an
onscreen message stating 'Norton AntiVirus 2006 does not support the repair
feature. Please uninstall and reinstall.' Symantec claimed the faulty update was
downloaded to customers between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM on July 25, 2006. Symantec
developed a workaround tool and has listed troubleshooting steps,. The company
released a statement, stating they expected to deliver a repair patch to
affected users by Monday, July 31, 2006.'

Uninstallation [ ] Norton Removal Tool. 2012.0.0.19 Website Norton AntiVirus has
been criticized for refusing to completely, leaving unnecessary files behind.
Another issue is versions prior to 2009 installed, which updates Norton-branded
software, separately.

The user must uninstall both Norton AntiVirus and the LiveUpdate component
manually. The LiveUpdate component is purposely left behind to update other
Norton-branded products, if present. In response, Symantec developed the
(SymNRT) to remove leftover keys and values along with files and folders.
However, neither route of uninstallation will remove subscription data,
preserved to prevent users from installing multiple trial copies. [ ] SymNRT can
only remove these Norton programs: • Norton AntiSpam 2004 and 2005 • 2003
through 2012 • 2003,9.0,10.0,12.0,1 A.O and 15.0 • 3.1 through 4.2 • 2003
through 2012 • Norton Password Manager • 2003 through 2006 • 2003 through 2009 •
Norton Confidential Online 2007 • Norton Add-on Pack 1.0 – 4.0 • Norton Save and
Restore 1.0 through 2.0 • /Security Suite/Business Suite 1.0 – 5.0 • Norton
Safety Minder 1.0 • 3.2 Once SymNRT has started the removal process, it cannot
be stopped. It is recommended to close all running programs prior to running
SymNRT. And users are recommended to back up their databases before running
SymNRT.

Incompatibilities with ZoneAlarm [ ] Norton AntiVirus 2007 will not install
alongside. This incompatibility has caused annoyance for Norton customers who
purchased Norton AntiVirus 2007 with no prior warning or notice of the
incompatibility. Symantec recommends removing ZoneAlarm, then reinstalling it
with its Internet Worm Protection feature disabled, which controls what
applications can access the Internet and which protocols they can use to do so.
PIFTS.exe [ ] On March 9, 2009, some users of Norton AntiVirus 2006 and 2007
experienced a warning stating a Norton-associated file, 'PIFTS.exe', was trying
to connect to the. Although this file was revealed to be a harmless diagnostic
patch, the program gained attention in the media when Symantec removed posts
from their forum concerning PIFTS.

With no information available about the purpose of the program there was
speculation that the program was or a. The claimed to have spoken to a Symantec
employee who has confirmed that 'the program is theirs, part of the update
process and not intended to do harm.'

Graham Cluley, a consultant from antivirus vendor found PIFTS connected to a
Symantec server, forwarding product and computer information. On March 10,
Symantec made an official response to the PIFTS program, claiming posts in the
support forum were deleted due to rules; however the deletion of PIFTS-related
posts began before the spam attacks. Symantec stated PIFTS itself was a
diagnostic patch. Cole stated the purpose of the update was to help determine
how many customers would need to be migrated to -compatible versions of Norton
AntiVirus. PIFTS apparently was released without a to verify its identity,
causing firewalls to prompt for permission when it attempted to connect to the
Internet. Consumer complaints [ ] Symantec has been criticized by some consumers
for perceived ethical violations, including allegations that support technicians
would tell customers that their systems were infected and needed a technician to
resolve it remotely for an extra fee, then refuse to refund when the customers
alleged their systems had not actually been infected. Macintosh edition [ ]
Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac introduced support for platform, with the capability
to detect both Macintosh and malware.

Other features include a, which blocks attackers from leveraging software
exploits. Norton AntiVirus 11 also includes the ability to scan within
compressed or archived files, such as volumes. Operating requirements call for.
A or an processor, 128 MB of RAM, and 100 MB of free hard disk space are also
required. Norton AntiVirus Dual Protection for Mac is intended for Macintosh
users with Windows running on their systems, using or software such as. It
provides a license for both Norton AntiVirus 11 with. Comparison with other
software [ ] From the 2009 to 2012 editions, Symantec made huge changes to their
products' speed and performance.

Norton products now have only 2 running processes, using about 24 MB of RAM.
Symantec engineers monitor said outbreaks of computer viruses to establish new
viruses. As soon as an virus is recognized, information in regards to the virus
(a virus signature) is stored in a pandemic definitions file, which contains the
vital know-how to become aware of and get rid of the virus. According to tests
sponsored by Symantec, Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security are the
lightest suites available. Av-comparatives.org also tested these products and
gave similar results. PCMag recognises 2011 and 2012 lines as the fastest and
strongest in protection.

PCWorld's tests of security software put Norton Internet Security 2009 in the
1st place. In 2011 test of PCWorld, Norton Internet Security was the winner. [ ]
Dennis Technology Labs (in tests sponsored by Symantec) confirms the performance
and effectiveness of Norton 2011 and 2012 lines.

Norton AntiVirus vs. GCSB Amendment Bill [ ] On the 14th of August 2013 the
Prime Minister of New Zealand addressed what he identified as 'misinformation'
surrounding the GCSB Amendment Bill, claiming that the actions of the were
analogous to Norton AntiVirus. See also [ ].
