I feel good about having more > independence, i also get to cook now and have gained other skills such as > learning to do laundry, take out rubbish and complete chores. The benefits of coming to live > at a SIL living accommodation was having company as i was on my own all the > time besides. Support, i appreciate having people to talk too who live in the > house with me and i love and appreciate having 24 hours support by staff, as i > was living with a safety link i wove constantly and now i don't need one and i > have become more independent and able to do more things on my own and enjoy > more activities. I'm walking around on my own move and feel safer knowing > staff are here and living a happy life. JOANNE Participant > I was previously living alone and wasn't coping to well and wasn't good for me > and i ended up in hospital and Ave Maria come to see me at hospital and > offered me a house to live in hrosley. I was the first one to move in. Before > living in SIL, i wasn't save from myself and when i start SIL with Ave Maria i > felt safe for the first time in a long time and felt settled and felt like i > could stay heve and i hadn't felt that ever, so it felt good to want to stay > somewhere at make in a home. I was not eating well before moving into SIL and > i was finally getting cooked meals and eating better and had a safe and happy > evvironment it feltgood actually fantastic. My goal is to live independent, > again one day but first i want to get a job improve myself and i feel Ave > Maria is really helping me acheive that, to be honest Ave Maria saved my life > without Ave Maria i feel i wouldn't be still here. CARL Participant > I moved into SIL living straight out of hospital, i could barely walk and > could just get around with a walker. I moved into SIL living as i could no > longer return to my farm as it was not accessible. I didn't know what my first > reaction was going to be moving to horsley as i had come from farm life, > however when i arrived i was amazed at how well set up it was for me with > ramps and rails and how neat and tidy it was and how peaceful it was as i > enjoy my quiteness. I was delighted while i was still in recovery how helpful > staff was, they helped with everything from cooking to choresand even help > with making sure i was fullfilling my appointments, physo and i was taking my > medications. It was a god sent i was able to come from hospital and have this > all done for me and staff ere so supportive and kind. In the last 12 months i > have really appreciated the services Ave Maria have provided and as live > improved and recovered i am grateful for the freedom of independence i have > living here at SIL.
