It floated last autumn after a bumper period of fundraisings and other deals and
did warn that it would not achieve the same levels of revenues and profit, but
it turned out worse than expected due to delayed deals. None more so than broker
Peel Hunt (LSE:PEEL). Some companies joined AIM when their markets were peaking.
The previously mentioned ATOME Energy, which was spun out of President Energy
(LSE:PPC), has risen by 17.5% although the share price has been highly volatile.

Acquisitions have helped to enhance the business, although the share price is
well below its high. The flip side was the potential to secure sites at
attractive rents. It floated at the beginning of 2021 when investors were
required to be brave to be putting their money into bars and restaurants when
lockdowns where still in force. In contrast, bars operator Nightcap
(LSE:NGHT) is 45% higher. Laboratories and pharma offices investor Life Science
REIT (LSE:LABS), a more solid investment, has drifted lower by 5.9%. Technology
investor Forward Partners (LSE:FWD) has fallen 54.5% and biotech Poolbeg Pharma
(LSE:POLB), which was spun out of Open Orphan (LSE:ORPH), is 53% lower. This is
an example of a high-profile business attracting investors at a premium

   companies joining AIM and more was raised by them then since 2014, it was not

There are still demon bears to fight, mysteries to unravel, and clans to
satisfy. Just because repairing the familial bond between mother and daughter is
a given, that doesn’t mean the tension is low. When a viewer can tell where the
story is headed, it’s still possible to be intrigued with how the characters
will eventually get to the end. When all is said and done, telling a story that
is predictable isn’t always a negative thing. Being magically turned into a bear
caused Elinor to become trapped in a situation that, for once, she had no
control over therefore, she had to trust Merida to help her, a decision that,
while forced upon her, did help her to grow as a person.

argument between her suitors’ clans. Her wild spirit and strong desire to take
charge of her own life set her apart from many other Disney princesses, even
though these same positive traits can become negative. This scene makes their
central conflict crystal clear.ĭespite her flaws, Merida is still a fun
protagonist to follow. As the scene plays out, the cuts between locations and
characters become more frequent and quicker, eventually leading into a two-sided
discussion, though neither Merida nor Elinor are able to hear the other side of
the argument. As Merida complains to her horse that her mother won’t listen,
Elinor complains to her husband Fergus about the same issue involving Merida.
This strong point of the central conflict, Merida and Elinor’s misunderstandings
of each other, is expertly displayed using a scene that goes back and forth
between two conversations. Merida and Elinor begin the story unable to listen to
or understand each other the mother-daughter relationship is messy and lacks
effective communication.

The story centers on familial tensions instead of romantic ones, a welcome
change from the classic princess formula. In stark contrast to the classic but
unfortunate Disney trope, Brave’s more modern story not only allows Merida
(voiced by Kelly Macdonald) to have a relationship with her mother, Elinor
(voiced by Emma Thompson), but also centers the conflict of the plot on their
struggle to understand each other. Rapunzel’s main dynamic in Tangled is with
her love interest, Flynn Rider. Even when the protagonist’s mother is present,
she typically has no presence for example, Rapunzel’s mother exists, but she has
no dialogue and little bearing on the action in the film. A popular Disney
princess trope is the lack of mother figure or presence of an evil mother
figure, such as the Evil Queen that hunts down Snow White, Cinderella’s Evil
Stepmother, and Rapunzel’s captor, Mother Gothel, to name a few. However, the
film’s positive qualities still make it an enjoyable watch, 10 years later.įor
one, very few Disney princesses have much of an onscreen relationship with their
mothers. Mixed reviews cited Merida’s immature behavior, the plot’s
predictability, and the overall lack of tension as proof that Brave is sub-par
when compared to other princess stories of the time period. As such, the movie
tends to be low on fans’ watch lists, leaving Merida’s story largely ignored.

As far as princess movies go, Brave is one of those Disney-Pixar movies that got
lost in the hoopla between Tangled and the phenomenon that was Frozen.

Hammerspoon has a much higher level view of key events, from what I understand.
I should note that one of the maintainers of Hammerspoon specifically
recommended using Karabiner instead of Hammerspoon for key remapping because
Karabiner was built to do that. And even if that's possible with Karabiner, I'd
rather maintain the complexity with Lua code rather than Karabiner's JSON
configuration, which is complicated enough that someone created a separate tool
just to generate the configuration. One specific reason I want to go with
Hammerspoon in the long run for key remapping is that I plan to do more
complicated things, like setting up key layers. I definitely needed Hammerspoon
for other stuff, so if it can cover my one use case for Karabiner as well, then
I only need to use one program instead of two. I just generally like having as
few dependencies as possible. I happily used Karabiner for years but only to
handle my caps lock remapping. just a policy Apple used to have and then later
removed from their website as they moved to proprietary SSD controllers)
(AppleCare-supported upgradable storage is on my wish list but that’s not
technically the software’s fault. That said, Windows Terminal and WSL highlight
that Microsoft isn’t slowing down here and Apple might actually need to play
catch-up at some point and evaluate new approaches to developer and power user
pain points. And I find the share sheet is still more useful on iOS than on
macOS (for now?) just as Finder is more useful on macOS than Files app is on
iOS. Recent attempts to lock down the system point to how it’s “not the default”
to customize your Mac outside the App Store. But if you know the ins and outs,
there’s a lot you can accomplish from a Mac, particularly as macOS has
historically had better app support for AppleScript and somewhat better
accessibility tooling.

You can use Quick Actions (formerly Services) to trigger Mac automations, with
customized Keyboard Shortcuts and text input replacements but it’s all scattered
across a dozen apps and it’s kind of clunky to piece a workflow together from
all these parts. Only downside is I have a relatively problematic left wrist and
this set up added to the already LHS stress to the already very imbalanced
qwerty layout, so it forced me off mechanical keyboards to a low profile
logitech right around the time COVID-19 hit. Took me about a week for the muscle
memory to catch up and allow me to correctly hit ctrl L with the right hand when
I want to go to the address bar, but now I'm ridiculously fast moving around in
Excel without having to touch the arrow keys. Then I made fn = pgdn, fn = home,
fn ' = end and fn \ = delete, with the same augmented fn LHS modifiers. I've
actually gone kind of crazy with this idea and made my left ctrl, shift and alt
behave as fn ctrl, fn shift and fn alt, so that e.g. I miss it dearly when I'm
not on Windows.Īnd I actually use caps lock as a "fn" key for hjkl/arrows.
Having used both Hammerspoon and AHK, the latter is somehow both terser and more
ergonomic. Disable the insert key because I've never wanted its functionality,
but I would sometimes hit it accidentally. I previously used Karabiner Elements
for making caps lock work as escape when tapped and control when held, but I was
able to uninstall Karabiner because Hammerspoon was sufficient.ĥ. I use this in
conjunction with remapping caps lock to control in macOS system preferences.
Because macOS would frequently get it wrong, including treating my monitor as a
speaker for some reason (it doesn't have built-in speakers).Ĥ. Automatically
switch audio input and output devices according to my specified priority order.
By holding it down and pressing another key, I can switch between specific
programs without cycling. Use shift when pasting something to simulate typing in
the text instead, getting around websites that block pasting.Ģ. I've started to
do similar things on macOS using Hammerspoon.

It was introduced as a professional prerequisite back in 2006, and prior to
this, Pharmacists only needed an RPh after their name for them to work as a
pharmacist.īack then, a person need only go through a five-year bachelor’s
degree program in Pharmacy –a B.S. Well, a Pharma.D is a relatively new degree,
and a relatively new requirement, that the U.S. The two sound pretty much the
same, and in a way, they are, so what makes them different? In the United
States, one cannot become a licensed, professional Pharmacist without a
Pharma.D.īut what about an RPh? RpH stands for Registered Pharmacist, and is
also a professional degree that is required before a person can become a
practicing pharmacist. It’s a professional degree that acts as a prerequisite
for the practice of Pharmacy, similar to an MD. A Pharma.D refers to a Doctorate
in Pharmacy. To understand the Marketing Director’s comment, we need to look at
the difference between those three letters. Why would we hire RPh’s when we have
all these Pharm.D in our staff? The Difference Between a Pharma.D and an RPh
Degree That being said, the same marketing director did say something that
bothered me I asked if how many RPh degree holders they have working in the
company, and the man laughed. And rightfully so: achieving a Pharm.D is no easy
feat, and a pharmaceutical company that has an army of Pharm.D touting employees
can be sure that they’re staffed by subject matter experts. A few days ago, I
