FBI HIRED SOCIAL MEDIA SURVEILLANCE FIRM THAT LABELED BLACK LIVES MATTER
ORGANIZERS “THREAT ACTORS”

Published Fri, 09 Feb 2024 22:22:44 GMT

The FBI’s primary tool for monitoring social media threats is the same
contractor that labeled peaceful Black Lives Matter protest leaders DeRay
McKesson and Johnetta Elzie as “threat actors” requiring “continuous monitoring”
in 2015.The contractor, ZeroFox, identified McKesson and Elzie as posing a “high
severity” physical threat, despite including no evidence that McKesson or Elzie
were suspected of criminal activity. “It’s been almost a decade since the
referenced 2015 incident and in that time we have invested heavily in
fine-tuning our collections, analysis and labeling of alerts,” Lexie Gunther, a
spokesperson for ZeroFox, told The Intercept, “including the addition of a fully
managed service that ensures human analysis of every alert that comes through
the ZeroFox Platform to ensure we are only alerting customers to legitimate
threats and are labeling those threats appropriately.”The FBI, which declined to
comment, hired ZeroFox in 2021, a fact referenced in the new 106-page ...

CONSERVATIVE GROUPS LOSE BID TO SEE DELAWARE UNIVERSITY’S RECORDS INVOLVING
BIDEN SENATE PAPERS

Published Fri, 09 Feb 2024 22:22:44 GMT

DOVER, Del. (AP) — A conservative media outlet and an activist group won’t be
allowed access to records related to President Joe Biden’s gift of his Senate
papers to the University of Delaware, after the state Supreme Court on Thursday
affirmed a judge’s ruling in favor of the university. The records have been the
subject of multiple Freedom of Information Act requests, and the legal battle is
playing out amid increased scrutiny of the handling of government documents by
elected officials. The FBI searched the University of Delaware earlier this year
for classified documents as part of its investigation into the potential
mishandling of government records by Biden. In 2012, when Biden was vice
president, he gave his alma more than 1,850 boxes of archived papers and 415
gigabytes of electronic records from his 36 years in the Senate. The donation is
subject to a gift agreement that prohibits the records from being made publicly
available until two years after Biden “retires from ...

MALAS NOTICIAS PARA VIAJEROS NERVIOSOS: POR QUÉ LAS TURBULENCIAS EMPEORARÁN CON
LOS AÑOS

Published Fri, 09 Feb 2024 22:22:44 GMT

DENVER METRO HOME PRICES STEADY IN JUNE

Published Fri, 09 Feb 2024 22:22:44 GMT

DENVER (KDVR) — People aren't selling their homes as much in the Denver metro,
but that doesn't mean prices are staying down. Large hail, gusty winds,
tornadoes possible for these areas Thursday The median closing price of a Denver
metro home has been nosing back up after it fell from historic highs last
spring, according to the July market report from the Denver Metro Association of
Realtors. The median close price for a detached single-family home was $655,000
in June, the same as in May. The median close price had reached nearly $700,000
last April before dipping just under $600,000 in the winter of 2022.Denver
housing market low on inventoryThe lack of available homes is keeping prices
higher. Denver's housing market is simply low on inventory, though not as
critically as in 2022. There has been a 23.2% drop in the number of new listings
compared to the same period last year. Experts say mortgage golden handcuffs are
the cause. "Why are fewer homeowners choosing to sell?" aske...

DENVER (KDVR) -- Researchers from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural
History and Colorado State University have uncovered evidence of what might be
the oldest known case of cannibalism. They found cut marks on a
1.45-million-year-old shin bone from a relative of Homo sapiens in Kenya. How CU
students challenged a popular astrophysics theory The study's author, Briana
Pobiner, is a paleoanthropologist at the National Museum of Natural History. She
discovered the tibia bone at a museum in Kenya when she was looking for bite
marks or clues about prehistoric hunting and eating habits. Instead, she noticed
the marks that immediately looked like those on other animal fossils that were
being processed for consumption, according to a release from CSU. Evidence of
butchery?Pobiner used dental molding materials to send a copy of the bone to
co-author Michael Pante, a professor of anthropology at CSU, so he could perform
a 3D analysis of the fossil bone. She did not give Pante details ...
