LOCAL MAN, JOE ROGAN AND OTHER ASSHOLES DOX A RENOWNED VACCINE SCIENTIST

It started Saturday, after Peter Hotez tweeted a Vice article that was critical
of an interview Joe Rogan did with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on his podcast The Joe
Rogan Experience, in which Kennedy presented false claims about vaccines -
including links to autism that most experts have discredited - which Hotez
described as “nonsense.”

Rogan responded to Hotez’s criticism by inviting the vaccine scientist onto his
podcast to debate Kennedy and pledging $100,000 to any charity of his choice if
Hotez agreed.

Billionaire Bill Ackman then pledged an additional $150,000 if Hotez agreed to
the debate, which led to other public figures and vaccine skeptics to make
similar pledges, bringing the total charitable pledges up to around $600,000.

Hotez (who has previously appeared on Rogan’s show) agreed to go on Rogan’s
podcast “to clear the air,” but in separate tweets Hotez said he wanted to
discuss getting more people vaccines and vaccine misinformation — an offer that
Rogan didn’t see as a response to his request for Hotez to debate Kennedy.

Hotez told his Twitter followers Sunday that the Houston resident “was stalked
in front of my home by a couple of antivaxers taunting me to debate RFKJr” —
less than 24 hours after the initial Twitter argument began.

Minutes later, a Twitter troll posted a video that appeared to show himself and
another person shouting questions at Hotez outside a home, asking why Hotez
wasn’t going to debate Kennedy.

Mark Cuban defended Hotez, and called out Elon Musk and Joe Rogan.

These fucking morons.

... In more scientific news my mom and I got our sixth dose (fourth booster) of
Pfizer and finally took off our masks two weeks ago. I feel a little naked.

Musk and Rogan are garbage humans, but I'm confused about the doxxing - how was
the scientist's address made public? On the podcast?

they didn’t literally doxx him, just got their fanbase riled up enough to find

ikr, i hate it when people like rogan and musk call for "debates" like that
because 1) we know it is never ever done in good faith, and 2) what even is
there to debate??? i am so tired of these annoying ass men playing dumb and
being deliberately obtuse

Maybe years ago I would've said it's worth it to debate these idiots if you can
convince even one person but now I'm like fuck that. What did debating climate
change get us? I feel like it just helped the idiots spread their dumb and
dangerous ideas. If you've seen those trending videos that are titled "Ben
Shapiro destroys liberal" you know it just ends up helping them spread their
bullshit in the end.

yeah i feel at this point people have made up their minds on the topic, whether
theyre vaxxed or not, theyre cemented in their perspectives and anti vaxxers
arent going to budge

it sounds very hopeless but i think we can find alternative ways to spread
important information without needing to bicker with conspiracy theorists

It's always been pointless since 1. You don't debate facts, especially not when
one party is ignorant of the facts and 2. Debate is not how you convey
information. Debate is about being a persuasive (or loud and annoying) speaker.
These cranks just want a platform to spread their lies.

I swear so many men online are constantly looking to debate instead of having a
conversation and it's so unproductive. Every time I see a man legit straight up
say "well I'm trying to debate.." and it's like, and no on else is, stop.

Ever since I read that study where I found out most people don't care about
facts I just focus on emotionally manipulating people to my side.😂

On stuff like twitter I will often post a corrective if someone is being vile
not because I care to correct THEM, but in case anyone reading their garbage
sees it.

Honest to god I’ve wondered if these loons would actually listen if the facts
were packaged as a conspiracy theory. Make it seem like ~~oh this isn’t what the
media/government wants you to know~~!

It's so hard to debate people who have conspiracy theory brain. Because anything
he says, RFK Jr. can just counter with "you're a shill for Big Pharma." I mean,
this guy literally called an AIDS denialist who ignored all medical advice and
caused her daughter to die of AIDS a hero, so. It's very hard to reason. It's
not just being ill-informed, it's falling down into the rabbit hole of
conspiracy thinking that there are powerful forces acting against us and any
belief that can be contributed to said forces is a lie designed to harm us.

(source for the AIDS denial thing if you're wondering what that is)

she got a veterinarian(!!!) to attest to her daughter's death as being unrelated
to AIDS despite the fact that she died of an infection that only really affects
people with HIV and of course she was tested and found to have HIV by the
coroner.

My former co-worker was HIV positive and a conspiracy nut. He believed
everything he saw on youtube. He repeatedly would stop taking his medication
because he believed he could cure himself with "clean" eating.

The amount of times I would tell him that you can't just believe everything you
see, that people can just lie about their credentials. That if an over the
counter vitamin and leafy greens was the cure it would be known. It was honestly
just sad.

You can't debate these guys. They have zero interest in actual facts and
science.

They're professional podcasters and grifters as well, so they know how to
articulate themselves, even when they're speaking bullshit. They'll just talk
over the facts until you give up.

I worked with an idiot who was a conspiracy theorist and Trump supporter. I
quickly realized that I'd have to fight stupid with stupid, and it worked??? I
remember when the mask mandate came out, she'd come to my desk and pull it down.
So I'd have to tell her, "No girl, I love wearing a mask. Put it back on so no
one can read your lips then when you gossip. And you know that your phone is
constantly recording you so now less data for it to get on you with half your
face covered!"

She became the biggest mask proponent after that in our office. Like yeah not
ideal, but I had to do what I had to do!

identity hidden from surveillance cameras since the ~gov is always watching. You
have to speak their language to get things across to them.

Hotez is exactly the kind of person you think when you think "scientist". He
looks like a harmless sweet dork. And a gross giant guy with a wedgie and no
shoes came up to him and got on his face on father's day to harass him. Poor
dude.
