TEN NOTABLE ALBUMS FROM CALGARY-AREA ARTISTS IN 2021 While it would be nice to say that 2021 marked a return to normal in the Calgary music scene, that’s not really the case. But, as with 2020, the uncertainty caused by the pandemic and its intermittent lockdowns seemed to spark the pent-up creativity in numerous acts. Some marked the return of established artists, others marked the arrival of major new talent. Some were spurred by tragedy, others by politics and defiance. But they were all strong releases in a very strong year for Calgary music.
