The GANOODLES Collection emerged from a playful exploration into reimagining some of my own hand-drawn characters through the lens of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). These artworks offer a glimpse into the world of GAN art from circa 2020, reflecting the capabilities and idiosyncrasies of nascent generative adversarial networks during this period. Central to this collection lies the blend of precise hand-drawn illustrations with the unpredictable magic of emerging generative technology. I began by feeding my own hand-drawn characters into a generative adversarial network (GAN), which transformed them into unique and unexpected forms. From these, I selected the most intriguing shapes and reworked them by hand.
